exactly right, eetsi. omar is an insufferable d-bag. he is also clueless about football. he actually said last year that we won't be able to resign sean smith after his contract runs out because he is going to be the highest paid CB in the nfl.

mizzou i believe you are like me we agree with him when he is positive about the phins....and totally disagree when he is negative about the phins.
Not many sports writers that I don't like but Omar is one I don't care for...
All of the other writers tweet as well but they don't whine about it. He is always crying about people picking on him...other sports people, fans, etc.
I also got fed up with all his rap music tweets filling up my phone as well. OK for those who do but it's just not my bag. I don't follow him any more.
I am ok with Omar's football related stuff, but once I started following him on twitter it became clear that he really is just a deluded idiot with an incredibly inflated opinion of himself. Like eetsi I got tired of him filling up my twitter feed with rap music tweets and bible quotes and talk about his sneaker collection (really?) and what a bad ass he is and how he will break out the "pimp hand" and block people who "disrespect" him (like he's the freaking president or something). Once I tweeted something very innocuous to him about sticking to football tweets or something like that and he blocked me, which saved me the trouble of unfollowing him. He is paid to report on the team and people on twitter are following him for that reason; the rest of his crap is totally unprofessional and annoying.

Isn't that true of anyone that wants to be "followed" on Twitter.
not at all. I follow a ton of sports writers and none of them are like that. they tweet the news 90% of the time, and the rest is at least not totally obnoxious drivel.

Correct, berk. I was strongly against drafting Tannehill at no. 8. However the day he was picked I said that he was now a Miami Dolphin and I would support him as much as I supported Bob Griese.
Nothing good could now come of us wishing he will fail. He is our future if not our present. If he has a deficiency in his game now, let's hope it gets corrected. If he is great now, let's rejoice.

I'm not a Twitter user. I'm adverse to the idea of reading 140 character droppings from ones mind. I spend enough time on chat boads, why

I can't say that he has done bad, and the only people that are gloating are the ones who claim RT is "impressive".
I don't see how he is impressive - right now he looks like any other Rookie QB. He is at the bottom of the depth chart, like any rookie QB should be in the first of of his camp.
I'll be happy when he does something impressive, but I've seen nothing impressive yet.
When he throws 3TDs for a win in the fourth quarter of a regular season game, then I'll say "I'm impressed".
"I don't see how he is impressive - right now he looks like any other Rookie QB."

Really? You've been at camp? You've seen him live in camp? Where are your credentials to say he looks like anything? If so, why are you on a chat board with arm chair QB's, you should be working for ESPN, a franchise, or some other big time website.

I agree in theory. To me the value of twitter is getting links to stories popping up in one place. Saves time going to 5 different websites to find stories of interest to me. All my dolphins news comes up in real time in 1 place.

Where are your credentials to say he looks impressive?
Sorry son, I'm getting my information the same place you are. The only difference is that I don't have a child-like pollyannic view of the QB simply because he was drafted in the first round.
The reports across the board say the RT is on the third team and having trouble with the blitz.
It doesn't mean he isn't the phenom you seem to think he is, it just means he is about where you would expect any rookie to be in the first week of camp.
Get a grip... it not like I said he looked like crap.

If he's not Ryan Leaf, then he must be Dan Marino.

That is pretty accurate. Omar is dangerous, because he thinks he knows more then he does and has a serious problem with his ego.. I laughed my a*s off the other day, when he had this long in depth leading question for Kevin Coyle.. Coyle responded by laughing at him, telling him what he thinks doesnt matter, and that he was wrong, when responding to him... Omar got put in his place about how wrong his predictions and analysis was, I dont think he took it to kndly with that ego of his...lol

Sherman or Philbin also said the other day that he missed a few throws early and he got labeled as struggling which wasn't the case.
They also said they were concerned that his first day back coincided with the day Coyle planned on bring out his blitz packages. Something the offense hadn't worked on.
He said RT handled it great and didn't miss a beat.
Now he is labeled as having problems with blitz pickups? Funny. haters.
I watched it. If you go to Miamidolphins.com and search under videos, it was an on the field interview from yesterday with Coyle..
Omar said from his view there is only one real position battle on defense and that is who starts at safety opposite Reshad Jones..
Coyle said there are postions battles at linebacker, corner back, and even on the defensive line.

Eesti, all rookie Qb's have problems with reading defenses and picking up where the blitz is coming from, while adjusting to the speed of the game... I am sure that is what Tannehill needs to improve on the most... So he does have a problem with it..

the best was last year when kevin burnett called out omar in the locker room after the game when he didn't like one of his questions. omar curled up in a ball like a little b*tch, refused to talk about it ever and basically pretended it didn't happen, except he started referring to burnett as "mr kevin burnett" on twitter thereafter, with the explanation that it was a reminder for him to be "respectful" of the players. this from a guy who thinks he's a gansta thug. loser.
