Check out Peter Kings Monday Morning QB article on CNNSI....

Lots of info on draft qbs and state of cba talks.

Says newton and gabbert are not worth top10 picks...sort of and mallet may go to seattle or miami....speculation but ya never know.

Says locker will go earlier than expected and believes next hearing will favor the players but judge known for mediating before case gets in court and could work out a deal.

Check it out. Sorry can't post link from phone...maybe somone else can do it for me.

Good stuff,

first time I have seen someone print Gabberts missing downfield receivers. That is what I noticed when I saw more film of him. Cam is definately better at dropping the ball into the WR hands on long throws.

Wonder what's going on w/ Mallet what's the truth on this guy. I still like him and Newton.

Locker, don't understand the man crush a lot of guys have on this guy.

Ponder, not in the first round.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that Mallet is the real deal and may even end up being the best QB in this draft. I had the same feeling about Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.

Didn't they say all kinds of shit about Marino that forced him to drop like a rock in the draft? They actually took Rutledge over him. you just never know. I remember when no one could decide between Ryan leaf and Payton Manning before the draft. Maybe they should ask Shula what he thinks...........

Mallett wont be the pick. It is too obvious (with Ingram, as well). We are known for off-the-cuff picks.

Look for a lineman or defensive player to be the pick.

A and O, the only D players who would be "value" for us at 15 (unless one of the top 2 CBs shockingly slip) are D lineman. I don't think any LB who would possibly be there would be a value, and I am sure we don't reach for a D player. I can't see us taking another DL---there would be a revolt (not to mention it would be a totally useless pick).

So if we stay at 15 I think the only possibilites are OL, QB, RB, or WR. There is no WR worthy of 15 that wouldn't be an insane reach (though mark it down, Hankerson will be a pro bowler). The Mark INgram pick has been debated to death. Outside of Cam and Gabbert, any QB taken at 15 would be reach---though at least Mallet has the upside to merit it. As for OL---Pouncy is a reach and riding his brother's name (how typcial it would be of this team to take the WORSE Pouncy much higher than the good one went). I could see us taking an OT b/c we could possibly get the best one in the draft at 15. All of these options suck, however, which makes me really want to trade down.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Well let me re-phrase my statement. He normally takes players that we the fans, would not pick. I could definately make an argument that most people wanted Ryan over Long, Clay Matthews over Vontae, and nobody expected the Odrick pick.

Again, it wont be a QB. Do I want a QB? Yes. We will pick one at #15? No. Guys, we are all dreaming here if you think Mallett will be the pick or any other QB for that matter at #15.

It aint happening. It is not their style. They had Matt Ryan in their lap and decided on a Tackle over him. Just give it up, a QB wont be the pick no matter if you or I (which I actually do) want that to be the pick.

I think off the cuff is a good description, for all but Long.

Secondly Vontae Davis wasnt the best ranked cb in that draft, I believe Malcom Jenkins was, and he went at least ten picks ahead of vontae. Vontae did have some character questions at the time.
THe Odrick pick, i think was a plan from the beginning to pick up the extra pick. Everyone had us picking Williams the NT from Tennesses. Ireland believed he had options trade back, and either pick up WIlliams or Odrick, when WIlliams was gone that took Odrick, and released the plan to move Starks to NT and his postion would be filled by Odrick.
I think Ireland has a couple ideas and directions he might take the draft, and the guys off the board, dictate what direction he takes. I think we would have taken Dan WIlliams last year had Arizona not taken him 2 picks before us. Had he done that, and Ferguson not retired, Ireland probably would have cut SOlia IMO. Alot of what happens is luck. And even Ireland, could not guarantee you today, what is gonna happen with our pick in the first rd.
SO off the cuff, makes sense to me, Ireland likes to not be predictable, and have multiple options and directions he can take the team based on the player available at the time that he can make sense with putting on the team and shuffling the roster around.

who do you want at 15? I can't even answer the question. I don't want Pouncy, wouldn't be happy with Ingram, don't want a DL, no QB available worth #15. this is a very weird draft. I guess if we took Ingram at least he'd make an immediate impact. Not sure anyone else would.

Basicly, what I think Ireland wants to do, is target 3 or 4 guys, which ever of those players falls, he will try and trade back pick up the extra pick, and take the player that fell. So he doesnt really lose anything, He still gets a top 15 guy, but is able to trade back to do it. That is what I believe he did last year and will attempt to do this year, unless a player he ranks in the top5 falls to us at 15 then he would take the percieved value of taking a guy at 15 that was suppose to be a top 5. So it is a hybrid BPA philosophy IMO

Which explains my position.

If Cam Newton is available, I would like to take him. But that is not the point. IF Newton is not remotely possible.
I think we would trade back, and take Ingrahm, Pouncey or Mallet. I would be surprised if we took one of these guys at 15 which I believe is a reach for all of them, but would not be surprised if we picked one of these players, with our first pick, it just probably will not be 15. It might not even be in the first rd.

The only wildcard in the equation is Mr Ross and Mike Dee, they want a sexy pick that sells tickets and reinvigorates the fanbase.
Being that Parcells is gone, Ireland is at risk, and he wants to please his boss. So altough I believe that to be what Ireland wants to do, I am not sure what he has convinced MR Ross of yet. Has he sold him that we can get a QB and or others in FA that will be sexy and Ireland really feels he is safe to not make a sexy pick in the 1st rd of the draft, to make the business side and his boss happy.

My guess is we could trade back and pick up 2 early second rd picks, and take two of the possible 4 targets we have. WHo knows this lack of FA before the draft is not giving us any ideas. For example if last year we had no FA before the draft, would we have made the same moves. Would we have still picked up Brandon Marshall. WOuld we have still traded back? I am pretty much completely confused, it is such a broad spectrum as to what might happen to address all of the teams needs and issues and how those issues will be addressed.

How are the The General managers philosophies going to be different, how much does this affect the normal way they do business. I am sure they all have a plan, but how did they figure out to take advantage of this peculiar offseason, and will it show itself in the draft. I never underestimate or put anything past these creative GM's.

Trade back out of the first rd completely, sorry you misunderstood me.

I am thinking we dont pick up a QB in this draft at all, I know I am all over the place but we obviously need a veteran, and there are enough sexy veterans that could be available this year.

SO before Football begins the Dolphins will be in a three way trade with Philly, Cincinatti, sending Carson Palmer to Miami and Kevin COlb to CIncinatti. Carson will sign a performance based contract which Ireland will love about him. He solves the sexy pick up to sell tickets, and supplies the team with the missing veteran qb.
The DOlphins will trade back in the draft and pick up Pouncey and with the second pick they will pick up Ingrahm or Leshoure. Whichever is available.

we got a player as well, the MLB and ST player Dobbins from San Diego, who player well for us when Dansby and Crowder were out and traded our 4ths, which we got the worst pick and we gave up a 6th.

Dolphins receive:

•San Diego's first-round pick (28th overall—used to select Penn State defensive end Jared Odrick)

•San Diego's second-round pick (40th overall)
•San Diego's fourth-round pick (126th overall)
•Linebacker Tim Dobbins
San Diego receives:

•Miami's first-round pick (12th overall—used to select Fresno State running back Ryan Mathews)
•Miami's fourth-round pick (110th overall)
•Miami's sixth-round pick (173rd overall)
