Chad changes his name back!

Normally I wouldn't give 85 craps about this, but it shows a sign of maturity. Chad Johnson is now once again Chad Johnson, Yahoo is reporting.

And yes, I've noticed the irony now that he's residing in a largely Spanish-speaking part of the country, he drops the Spanish name.

Nice going Chad.

and speaking of Spanish names, per the Yahoo article:

"The main reason behind the name change was due to his marriage to Evelyn Lozada. The couple preferred Evelyn's last name to be a real name and not the fun "Ochocinco" character we have come to love."

So his wife didn't want to be known as "Evelyn Ochocinco." Even though that has an admittedly alliterative ring to it, I'm glad he's being a man about this.

Thus curing one of my concerns about him as per my post when we originally got him.

True...he's about what, the 85th player named Chad we've had on our roster?

On the surface, this seems like he's maturing. But I think its weak that he is blaming this on his wife.

Is he going to blame dropped balls on the QB?

I take back the blaming the wife comment. I'd change my name for her.

In my memory, Brandon Marshall, AND ONLY BRANDON MARSHALL, aka BM, is the only receiver in NFL HISTORY to blame his dropped balls on his quarterback.

HAHA...good thing you did..I was about to ask if you were married. Blaming stuff on the wife is VERY convenient sometimes.

No, I can't give you a ride to the airport, my wife needs the car that morning.

Sorry, we can't go to your son's birthday party. My wife's women's club luncheon is at the same time.

Maybe I'm missing something, but... in this day and age, she couldn't have just kept her own name?

She could have....and as DolfanKing mentioned he might have wanted to make it look like he made the change at her request....I don't care what the reason really is, but I'm glad he did it.

Right now Sean Smith is calling him Chad Seanson because of Smith's ownage over CJ in practice.

I'm no sure about any WR that Sean Smith owns.

This does not bode well for the return of Chad Johnson.
