What is the status on our draft picks, who is signed and who is not?

Tannehill, Egnew, and Vernon are not.

The rest are.

What's taking so long?
Luck and RGIII are done already.
I would imagine it's only a matter of days. Everyone signed by the start of camp.
The new CBA makes it pretty straight forward now with rooks.

Offset language with Tannehill... Basicly if we cut him before the contract is up, and he signs with another team, we don't want to have to continue to pay him while he is getting paid from another team... Egnew and Vernon are 3rd rd picks, very few 3rd rd picks have signed due to there being some discrepancies about how much the 3rd rd picks got last year... So teams and agents are all battling over what price the 3rd rd slots should get paid... It is league wide pretty much

I hear they may not get a deal done with Tannehill before camp starts. Rumor has it, Ireland feels that if Tannehill is not signed and classified as "a hold out" for any length of time during TC that it takes all pressure of the FO, Coaches, and Tannehill to make any starts during this season. It allows Gerrard or Moore to make all the starts and Tannehill to be the entire season backup.

I think Ireland has better leverage in the negotiation because it doesn't seem as important for him to be in camp day 1 as say luck or rg3. I never expected Tannehill to be ready to start, he makes to many mistakes in college and is raw, for him to have legitimate shot he needs some time holding a clipboard, hold out or not..

Great point. Let's sign Tanehill......eventually!

This kind of logic makes clear why they drafted a second round talent in the first round. The FO didn't want to pay. The same thinking brought us Eric Kumerow.

Not too sure that is the reason and that's what Ireland wishes to happen. Tanney is Miami's QB of the future, not necessarily of the now. Garrard and/or Moore can hold the fort until Tanney is ready.

I am pretty sure that the last three of the draft picks will be signed before training camp. If Tanney still isn't signed by then, he has dug himself a hole in which he won't be able to get out of (this season).

Read somewhere on this board that there is some terminology that needs to be worked out. Like what....what color and type of material that his clipboard will be?

Not sure who's fault it is that he hasn't yet signed, but Tanney is the master of his universe, so he better figure something out real quick.

LOL!

I expect him to see the field sometime in the last quarter of the season. That gives him until December to sign. Since he already knows everything there is to know about this offense, he can stay at home with his hot wife until then.

I disagree...Eric Kumerow was not second round talent....or third, or fourth.

Eric Kumerow. That brings back memories.

Hey, by reading Wikipedia (which wasn't around in 1988) I found out he is the grandson of a reputed Mob Boss in Chicago.

Maybe someone made someone an offer they couldn't refuse.

Also, you can't look at folks drafted above him (he was 1st round no. 16), you look at folks drafted after him.

I only looked through the first two rounds but after him, was drafted, meaning we could have drafted Chris Spielman, Ohio State Linebacker.

Also, there were a couple of other linemen of note drafted but guess what?

We could have also snatched a running back named Thurman Thomas.

Would have saved us a lot of grief and probably put us in one of those four SuperBowls that the Bills and Thomas lost.

Too bad Eric didn't exactly strike fear into the hearts of any opponent's offense. Hey, maybe he busted John Bosa's knee?
