Thats a good point, but once we got rid of Henne the whole Team attitude changed. I was at that game against the Jets and the atmosphere was fantastic. I swear the Stadium was Electric. I hope we can pick up where we left off.

Yeah really! It REALLY means Squat. I prefer when the rest of the world lowers their expectations of the Phins. Being the underdog is the way to go. Even when we were undefeated going into Super Bowl VII, we were favored to lose against the 'skins. I believe it took some of the pressure off the team then, and even more so in modern times, as the media are more ubiquitous and 24/7.

Yes we always say that..then when we lose the first 6 games, the season is over and its not fun anymore.

There was that one year not too long ago when we were predicted to be in the SB. That wasn't any fun either.
Whether it's a fun season has little to do with predictions and power rankings. We just need to win, regardless of what the pundits say or how they rank us.
There were a couple times during the Wanny era when we had the #1 power ranking. A lot of good that did us. The fans of every team that has a low pre-season ranking say "but we're better than last year. We've added X, Y, and Z, and got rid of A, B, and C."
The only thing that matters is what happens on the field on Sept. 9 and beyond. Power rankings Schmower rankings - who cares.

I hear you, let me be clear though. I'm not optimistic because we are an underdog.
- A crappy start bummed me out big time last year.
- One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. That's how I felt last year. No punch in the offensive scheme, team was out of shape at season start, and the defense didn't live up to their potential until about half way thru the season. The offense sucked all year.
I see a lot of change, and for the most part see it as good change.
1. Coaching - Looks like a way smarter knife in the drawer this year
2. Offensive plan and personnel - Definately has potential, much more excitingt, Pretty decent draft.
- To be seen on execution.
3. Defense - Most of the quality kept, and again some decent coaching changes. I liked the former DC, but also like the new one.
4. Not an on field thing, but I also like the change in openess and allowing players to speak and be more open.
- I hated the series of miami regimes (Saban, Parcells, Sparano etc) that had so little self confidence that they had to keep everything so underground.
- Yes keep your draft strategy private, but make the environment real. The players like it here a lot better now.
As Dolphans1 said, the only thing that really matters is what they do on the field ... true ... but as we wait in the off season ... I have some reason to see an upside to the changes in play.
I think we are going to surprise some people ... #27 is low.

If he gets on the field as the starter, that means the Fins have blown their season and it is time to get him some experience so he can start right away next season.
I hope he never gets on the field, this year. Paraphrasing what I said above, that will mean Miami is winning and our starting QB is doing a good job.
Keep Tanney on the bench and let him learn; maybe allow him some mop-up duty just to get a feel of what is like on an NFL field in live action.
3 play off teams, The 49ers, Bengals, and Broncos, were all rated at the bottom of the power rankings last year...Power rankings this time of year are useless.. What do you think our preseason power ranking was in 2008, the year we won the AFC East?

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.
Nietzsche
A new coach and QB, but the same FO that brought us two back to back 6-10 season. This is a team that, besides a fluke 11-5 season that REALLY seems like a fluke now, has been horrible for the past 7 seasons - including a 1 win season and a 2 win season.
That is a lot a lot of unknowns build upon a foundation of turds. I get why we are at #27 - it is where the team deserves to be.
That doesn't mean the team isn't better, and it doesn't mean we won't surprise someone, but looking at the Dolphins realistically #27 is about right.

If he doesnt get to play at least the last 5 games i will be very disapointed in him.....................That would mean the other 2 scrubs are better than him.
