TC should be alot of fun. I think the offense will need time to get up to speed so I am interested to see if the back end of the defense improves. they got picked on last season. the defense will have to create field position this season. we need to get alot better with the turnover ratio.

I think we have a lot more going for us this year than last, and two of the big reasons are New system coaching staff and a full training camp.

Put that together with hot summer, and a faster paced offense and I think it puts us back into having a September advantage over teams coming to S.Fla.

A full training camp should also help Hartline, who I think is going to be a lot better this year. Add in a hungry / motivated to prove somthing Chad Johnson, and it could be fun.

I'm optimistic but not blind to the newness and aware of all the talk about our OL being suited for other offensive schemes, but, I think the changes we've added and some coaching / freshness as a team will more than compensate.

This is th first year in many that I haven't felt like the Fins were dragging ... the players seem more relaxed, open and excited to be on this team. From Saban on thru Sparano, the players were treated like children, and not allowed to say squat ... I like the more open approach much better!

I understand privacy, but Philbin made a bigger deal out of this than necessary.

Absolutely.

Its one thing if its going to be a one week absence ... but something like this you can just let sit with such attention to the WR needs at play

I guess that's one way to look at it.

Frankly, I think the guy who made a "bigger deal" out of this was the writer who labeled Philbin a 'liar' for at worst using the wrong phrase to describe a non-football related illness while adhering to HIPPAA privacy laws.

I just think Philbin was a typical HC regarding an undisclosed injury.
All I ever heard Philbin say, was that Hartline wasnt on the field for personal reasons at some point.. And then inferred to Hartline at one point seemingly in frustration "it is hard to assess players when they are not out here"(paraphrased)

Not sure what the big deal is, he alluded to the fact Hartline had personal issues. WHich he did, an appendectomy is surely not a football related injury, and Philbin has no right to share that with the press if Hartline chose to remain silent about it...
What was Philbin and or the PR suppose to do. I am not sure what the problem is, IMO just typical NFL offseason ambiguity from all involved with NFL organizations....

Yeah I agree with that...he went too far.

Its good for everybody to not have this cloak of secrecy about the smallest of things.

I totally get not divulging draft strategy etc, but Saban, Parcells, Soprano were just control freaks and left an air about the place.

The players seem so much more at ease in interviews this year, and no one is giving away the store or secrets either.

Philbin seems comfortable in his own skin and able to to deal with media so much better than the others. Breath of fresh air.
