At times he has been a great TE. He is defintely a TE, with a WR attitude. Will he be happy playing on a smaller incentive contract. Will he be happy if he isnt getting playing time. Not sure he fits the type attitude, Philbin, is looking for, when they got rid of Marshall so fast becasue of attitude and distractions... I would be surprised if they signed Winslow... but I do like him as a player when he is healthy...

agreed with the diva comments. plus he hasn't been all that dominent---are his #s from last season all the better than fasano's? I'd say pass at his salary and giving up picks for him (probably won't get much for him, maybe a 5th)

Berk, I am pretty sure he is gonna be cut, rather then traded, his contract hit is 3.3 million..I doubt anyone steps up at that price with so many question marks about his health and attitude.

I supposed we could cut fasano and pick up winslow, though I think winslow is overrated and fasano underrated. 3.3mm is a lot for winslow so if cut would he sign for less? fasano is actually making quite a bit of $$ too
winslow's numbers are better than fasano but nothing spectacular

Berk- Fasano is a very good versatile TE. He can block well, and catch pretty well. When he is playing, teams dont know what he is gonna do, block or recieve... None of these guys would unseat, Fasano at this point, unless, his blocking skills are no longer needed in Phiblins system. But I doubt they dont like a versatile TE in the scheme as well.

Tampa took a big loss here depending on the "conditional" pick they got for Winslow.
Dallas Clark is nowhere near as good as KW. He was a bi-product of Peyton Manning. He had a two good years and 7 mediocre years that are not even as good as the numbers Fasano puts up....he is a injury risk and will be 33 years old.
Tampa made some nice moves in the draft but I have to question this one.

Crazy is as crazy does A&O. You should know by now not to expect lucid thought from CB unTil after the nurse stops in with his medication.
I am really surprise Seattle took him on at the price of his salary, I imagine Tampa must have dead money on him, and his 3.3 million will not go all against Seattle's cap... Anyone got any information and the Winslow deal as far as cap hit or dead money to Tampa

Ok, but for instance when we traded Marshall to the bears they inherited the contract, but we still have dead money on Marshall counting against the cap this year, even though we traded the player and contract

I made a joke about him being in the marathon game.
Eesti, asked was I serious about him being that guy and did I know it was his son.
You responded "Not a chance" (did I know it was not his son).
I thought you both had fell for the gag.
Well, maybe, looking at it again, you were just saying "not a chance" that we should sign Kellen Winslow,Jr.
If so, I apologize but sometimes posts come right after each other and when you read down vertically, one makes the sometimes unwarranted assumption that the post that is last applies to the post before it.

We have to eat whatever guaranteed money we've already paid out and prorated over the contract for cap purposes.
All the money prorated over future years is counted against this years cap, although under the old CBA there were instances where that hit could be spread out over two years. That's why the fist week of June used to be a big cut date for vets. Could be that it still will be.
Then I would imagine Tampa bay, will have to eat the cap hit on what ever guranteed money was left or prorated, on WInslow's contract, since he still has a couple years left on his deal similar to Marshall. So Seattle would likely have less of a hit then 4.8 million as eesti quoted above as his cap number for 2012. Basicly the team has to eat the prorated signing bonus money, and the new team escapes it?

Could be. Or better yet...yes and no.
Anything Tamapa paid out already they have to accelerate and eat. I don't know what that number is. Could be above and beyond what was reported as Seattle's cap number for this year.
I saw a break down that went something like this:
Seattle is on the hook in 2012 for:
$3.3M in base salary.
$0.5 million in Roster bonus due before the season starts.
$1.0M in performance bonuses that are expected to be reached and have to be accounted for now.
That's $4.8m
Could end up being less if he doesn't meet the incentives but it shouldn't be more.

Yet another reason why using the "quote" feature can work wonders.
