Yeah but Why?!!!

We have Fasano and Clay and I actually like the kid from MD.

We were on a roll taking good players that were dropping to us, should have stuck w/ it. There were corners and receivers who were rated as 2nd rnders available. We reached for Egnew, crap.

Oh well I like our draft so far. Egnew was the first pick I did not like.

West Coast Offense.....they like Big targets. Tanny can hit him on the run.

Philbin and Sherman love TE's.

Clay and Fasano are both better than Egnew and Yeatman(Sp?) is just as tall. This pick reminds me of the LB we grabbed from Iowa a couple of years ago whose forte was pass coverage. Egnew has a specialty and cannot block worth crap, great hands but I will not be surprised if he is not on the roster 2 years from now.

Odd we didn't go WR or take Charles

Vernon was reach

Hopefully Joe Admans, Givens or Marvin Jones in 4th. Is Childs still avail?

Gotta find a safety also

Unfortunatley I think 4th we swapped with Saints

The Packers carried 5 TE last year. They love TEs. Fasano is a free agent at the end of the year. Clay is a little shorter than you like at the position. Mastrud has 1 career catch. Yeatman has 0 career catches. And Les Brown was an accountant a few months ago who last played football in high school. TE was a position of need.

Fasano is a big/slow blocking TE with good hands, ala Mark Bavaro. Egnew is a pass-catching TE, ala Keith Jackson (not saying as good, but same type of TE). They are completely different players. Egnew will be that big target that we lost when we traded Brandon Marshall. Joe Montana had Dwight Clark. We needed a big-time pass-catching TE.

There's more TE's than WR's on this team now I do believe, and I'm pretty sure they intend to line some up wide. Should be an interesting offense, and I really wouldn't be surprised if Tanny ends up starting.

Well, I don't think Egnew ever lined up with his hand in the dirt. He split out almost every play.

Apparently, he did line up down at the Senior Bowl. And Philbin said they liked seeing him there.

I agree with Mizzou and Berk, I watched his highlight reels, and to a layman, nothing jumped out at me as lets go get this guy...
