Cold reality of top 5 qb's in the nation

For the sake of argument lets say andrew luck is the #1 qb in the nation who is next. The next 4 qb's are Griffin, tannehill, weeden and Jones (i know that jones decided to stay but he is still projected as one of the top 5 qb's in college right now). There are 12 conferences and about 120 teams so what is the likelyhood that the actually 4 of the top 5 qb's are from the same conference? I dont believe it and i think 2 of those 4 guys are fools gold. The knock on the big 12 is all offense and no defense. This could explain why you have all of these guys slated so high but i personally dont believe all 4 can be franchise caliber guys (which is why you spend a first rounder on a qb). just my thoughts, what do you guys think?

That was my first thought too, although I am by no means an expert on college football.

You guys are missing the point, which is a good one... The reason so many Qb's look good in the Big 12, is the defenses are atrocious..
If you look at the points scored in that divisions it is kind of ridiculous....
What would happen, if you took Griffin, Tannehill, Weeden and put them up against SEC defenses week in week out....

This is exactly why I said before that basing an argument on which college qb is better solely on statistics is silly. There are just too many variables.

You have to project guys to the next level and that is a difficult thing to do.

Except when those QB's are all in the same division and face the opponents and schedule.. Then I think a realistic comparison and stats are comparable... The teams and defenses and schedule strength all balance out... And Tannehill was the worst, last among them in the divisions in every category, including wins... That has to worry some people....

BS barkley is every bit as good as Luck & RG3. He will tear it up this year if he stays healthy

would have likely been #2 pick
