Yes, I'd even call our old buddy Fisher sitting at #6 if need be. Buffalo just had Tannehill in for a visit as well. This is all predicated on if Sher-bin is going GaGa over him of course.
Kind of a side question to that; what spooks GMs to feel the need to move up? For instance, what made Ireland feel the need to move up for Thomas last year? Think there's back door phone calls that go on, or just a gut feeling?

I guess it depends on who else is on the board, and how high you have them rated.... I think, Tannehill getting selected before us, would perhaps put a blue chipper right in our lap... DO you trade another pick away, when you could draft a Pro bowl player by staying put... Versus reaching for an raw athlete with some needed development... IMO, at times he looks great, eluding the pocket and throwing on the run, or running, but at times he looks bad, inconsistent, makes bad decision or the ball is badly placed. Tannehill scares me, he really could go either way....
But what I think doesnt matter, how high does Ireland and Philbin, value Tannehill, maybe they value him really high, and would do it in a second.. Maybe they dont value him at all.
I saw Philbin talking about Tannehill on an ESPN clip. If the Dolphins were extremely interested in him, I would be surprised if they agreed to put Philbin on an ESPN clip, talking about Tannehill, 2 weeks before the draft, if they intended on drafting him... But who knows... I found it odd...

In that instance, there was a run of teams drafting RB's early in the second, I think 2 or 3 guys went in a handful of picks, and Ireland got spooked traded up for him.

if someone moves up to #7 I suspect it will be for someone like melvin ingram, not tannehill. I'd be shocked it any team traded up to take Tannehill. SEA isn't doing it having just signed Flynn. KC isn't doing it, they have too many needs and too much invested in Cassell, I could see them taking someone like Weedon in the 2d after a trade up. Ireland needs to just calm down and tune out all this "trading up for Tannehill" buzz that's out there in the nat'l media---again, the league things we are total patsies who are dumb enough to do this which is why these stories are getting put out there

I could see this board in 5 yrs; As Tannehill is saying "I'm going to Disney World" while trotting off the field in a Chiefs uni, this board erupts with 6 different posts saying "we could of had him for that extra 3rd that we wasted on ole what's his name"

I guess I would give one of the 3ds to go to 7 to get RT, IF it was looking like Jax was going to trade out with someone. But I don't really see that happening. Also I doubt it would be something we'd be unaware of, since I am sure JAX would call while on the clock and try to get us to beat any offer they had---since they'd rather trade with us an pick 8 (getting whoever they'd have wanted at 7 anyway) than 11.

But short answer: as distateful as it would be I'd make the move if (1) the FO was sold on RT and (2) it was the only way to get him. Yuck.

That was the point of the question:

Jax on the the phone saying we want your 3rd or we make a trade with KC so they can take Tannehill.

Do you give up the third to get him?

Sounds like you do.

So do I. If I'm willing to take him at 8 I have to believe he's the goods. Otherwise I'm not taking him at #8. If that's the case, a 3rd is peanuts to give up in the long run.

Wow. We better go get him now, then!! I had no idea you had a crystal ball.

Yes, if thats what it took to get him in a Phins uniform. One 3rd round pick isn't prohibitive from a cost standpoint.

Therefore, can I add you to my list on my thread as being willing to trade UP for Tannehill?

Are you and your four year old son willing to put your money (or reputation) where your mouth is?

I do not mind grabbing Tannehil at #8 but do not want to trade anything to move up. We need those two 3rd rnd picks. Should we miss out on Tannehill at #8 we still can grab a very good player at #8. We draft another qb in rnd 2 then still have the two 3rd rnd picks. That gives us 4 of the top 50 players in the draft.

I'll never understand that logic.

To each his own but it seems to me that if Tannehill is worthy of the 8th pick he's worthy of being picked earlier.

I will let you in on a secret truth. I never said I think Tannehill is worthy of the #8 pick. I said I do not mind if the team picked him.

Haha! Nice try.

That's like saying "I'm not saying that girl is attractive, but wouldn't mind doing her."

Chyren, you should really try to find a free legal clinic to volunteer your time at, you're getting crazier and crazier as your retirement settles in.

That does it. I'm putting you on that list in the other thread, dolphaholic. You just took up the defense of the cause of getting crazy to trade up for Tannehill. Speaking of crazy, you say that and you agree with Truth that if we want Tannehill at 8, by logic, we should do everything possible to get him at 7.

Hahaha!

I can only imagine. But here are two axioms I know to be true from my past exchanges with CB..

"there's no arguing with crazy."

And

"out of sight, out of mind".

I could not have put it better. Exactly what I am saying.

I think we should just go with the best player available. And tannehill is not the best player available.

We should draft the best player available with every pick this year until next year when we can draft a highly ranked QB prospect.

But you can bet on it........they will reach like always because the dolphins scouts have sucked for the last 25 years.

Yes but that means you think I unattractive players are worthy of high draft picks also...

Or if you prefer, any pig will do at closing time.

Either way, it sort of removes you from the conversation since you'll take anyone in that spot...doesn't it? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
