the only stuff in there that was shocking was the specific refenrece to ACLs and the specific reference to the player who had a concussion. The rest of it ("hit the head" "kill the head" etc is just rhetoric and not something I would take literally. Anyway the bigger point is, none of these players were really trying to "take out" anyone's knees or ankles, you'd have seen many more penalties/injuries if that was the case. Williams is an idiot but I am not really that appalled by any of this.

I dont think it is any different then what alot of High school and college defensive coaches across the nation say each week in pre games and half time rants... I am not surpised at all by it, the bounty payments and circumventing the salary cap, is the problem IMO...

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

I'm now even more glad we missed on Fisher. A guy that wanted to hire a bush-league, low class A-hole in Williams. That kind of cheap shot $#!T doesn't belong in the NFL.
You know Fisher knew this is how Williams ran his Ds.
Plus, I not fond of my HC sporting the porn-stash/mullet combo. It just screams TOOL!
"Go for the 'other ACL'" and that is just telling your players to play hard and just telling them to deliver hard hits?????????
Are you guys old enough to know what brass knuckles are? In some low-lifed boxing arenas, some boxers would hide them in their trunks. Comedy movies used to make up scenes where the ref would be looking away and someone would hand one of the boxers brass knuckles and he would clobber the opponent and then the ref would turn back around as the brass knuckles were put away.
This is worse than telling a boxer to sneak in a punch with brass knuckles if you can. It's more like telling him, "sneak in a stab with a knife and go for the heart if you can."
Its one thing to Yell , "Inflict Pain" and try to get the guys psyched......
Its quite another to Name specific players, injuries they have had and instruct them to Target the injuries. A Concussion?! Knock his head sideways? Take out his Outside ACL? Holy Shit. They have him on Tape , dead to rights. He was looking to end peoples careers. Its only fitting that they end his. For good.

I, for one, would be absolutely shocked if Greg Williams ever coaches in the NFL again. Goodell might not officially announce that his suspension is upgraded to "for life" but I'd bet that - in effect - it is now a lifetime suspension. And I'd be fairly surprised if any top level college programs would even touch him. I'm guessing he winds up coaching at Eastern Calabash State Technical College in Bumfucksville, ND or some high-school in Saskatchewan or something.
Since this video was released, I have been watching coverage of the reaction and NO ONE has suggested that the punishment BE LESS than a lifetime ban.
I know we are all arm-chair NFL would-be players and want to present a macho image, but really.....
This is not just a macho image but an attempt to end careers.
And this is not the 1950's where an athlete spends his entire career on one team. They move around.
Think of how stupid is attempting to inflict an injury on someone who next year could have been a teammate of yours that led you to wins and SuperBowl.
This is not the same thing as telling you to hit the QB so hard that on the next play he is more worried about being hit than paying attention to his targets downfield.
