what, nothing about failing forward fast?
well, hopefully he lets his assistants coach the final preseason game so he can evaluate them from the press box.

It's never necessary to tell me that you think I'm right. We'll just... assume it.
1) Ireland has drafted well, and I expect him to do so again. he may not have hit on HOF'ers...but he gets value out of his picks.
2) We have commented for years that our coaches have NOT developed talent very well going back to Wanny. The players never got better in Miami...but the usually got better when they left. How are the Colts replacing pro-bowl C Jeff Saturday? Samson Satelle. Our history is not getting the most out of our roster. Sherman and Koyle have a solid track record of developing players from high School through to the NFL. Philbin as well.
3) The Coach chose his coaching staff. Philbin brought in guys he TRUSTS....people that he has worked with...and they are all on the same page! This isn't a case of the 'preferred candidates were unavailable...so we settled for ...." Philbin has put together a staff of people that WANT to be here working with him.
4) Philbin has OC experience, OL-coach experience, and he has his mentor with him....who has HC experience, OC experience, HS experience. This can not be under-estimated. Sherman and Koyle will be mentoring their pupil once again. Sherman coached him in high school, brought him into the coaching ranks, developed him as a coach...and now they are here to guide him as he takes on his new challenge. It is quite a story
I know I had the good fortune of being a first time HC with a senior coach with previous HC experience. It is great to work with someone who isn't lining himself up for your job...someone who just wants to succeed, and has valuable advice and mentoring ( thanks Harry!)
"We are looking to develop our receiving corp and add to it with some speed..."
I could have sworn Dolfanmark said speed wasnt part of WR in Philbins WCO system... Philbin is wrong and Dolfanmark is right... Philbin needs to take better notes....lol

I like Philbin. But he needs to understand the last decade here and what it was like. He's asking for patience but its really wearing thin. Sorry.......Trust I no longer have. When they moved up in the draft last year and they picked a RB instead of a QB with You no who still on the board . I popped a vein in my forehead. I think I actually crapped blood that night.
But he is saying the right things and I guess we really don't have much choice do we?

Nope. Speed is more important in the WCO offense than size is. That's what I said. And it was one of the reasons that Marshall no longer fit in this system.
After reading how out of shape our team was last year it's no wonder we started so poorly.
Karlos Dansby...25 lbs overweight? what a joke! You mean to tell me the 43 mil/22 guarantee contract he got wasn't motivating enough for him to work out on his own? He's supposed to be a vet leader. jergoff.
The good news is that we will be in shape this year and we probably weren't as bad as we thought we were last year...Even with Matt Moore at the helm.
Started 0-7 and out of shape and finshed 6-3. That should translate to a 10 or 11 win season. Hope hope. Sure we lost Marshall but we can make up for that. Ireland needs one hell of a draft this year and we will back in the thick of things. WR, TE, DE, OL, S.
Dansby you and every other grown ass millionaire who didn't report in shape....suck.
Even Brandon Marshall the manchild reported in shape. Ridiculous.

The Dansby thing was pretty surprising, especially when he admitted it. It was about midseason, and he was asked why his play had gotten so much better. And he basically said, I lost 25 lbs and got back to my regularly playing weight of 245. So, a defensive captain, with a huge contract, shows up at 270 lbs when his playing weight is 245? There simply is not an excuse for a pro athlete to put on that much weight.
Given his nagging injuries the last two years, and last year's weight gain, and his inflated vision of himself (he has repeatedly called himself the best LB in the league), I am quite sure this is his last year in a Phins' uniform. I think he'd have been gone this year, but there is no cap savings for cutting him. In fact, the way his contract is structured, it costs us more money to cut him this year than to keep him. His cap hit this year is over $12M, but it's the last year of his guaranteed money. Once that is off the books, unless he is willing to restructure for a lot less money, he is history. So, that's something to keep in mind, that they may be shopping for his replacement in this draft.
Or trade him and draft a strong side pass rusher and move Misi inside. He is violent enough. lol
So many FA underacheivers in Miami over the years.

Sure, violent, ala Brian Cox. He'd probably be as good (or bad) as Cox as well.
