Good comparison there Reppa. I was impressed w/ Logan when I saw him play. He did not look like garbage but an ok first year qb w/ lots of potential. We will see how he develops.

Really?

Dont even go there douche.

Been following Logan Thomas since he was a Junior at Brookville in Lynchburg Va.

I thought he would have made a much better TE in college than QB, thats why Rivals assumed as much as well.

Listen, while at Brookville HS, he completed 52% of his passes. At Virginia Tech he is at about 57%.

Now, I agree with The Truth that he could develop, it is possible. But, for the most part, you are either an accurate passer, or you or not. Its a hard thing to teach.

Logan Thomas has very bad accuracy.

He is an elite athelete. But an inaccurate passer.

I don't see it Aqua.

Drew Brees is one of the most accurate passers in the NFL and his SENIOR stats at Purdue are almost identical to the numbers Thomas put up in his first year as a Sophomore.

There aren't many 1st year, 19 year old college QB's that couldn't stand to improve their accuracy. But there's a big difference between not being NFL ready at the age of 19 and being an inaccurate college passer.

Well, maybe you are right.

I guess we will see. I like Thomas, have since he was in high school. I like him at Va. Tech. Just have concerns about him at the Pro Level.

But I want to get one thing straight, he is not a converted TE. Never played TE.

Rivals and Scout "assumed" he would be a TE in college him and listed him there so everybody speaks of him as a "converted TE". That couldnt be farther from the truth.

He is and always has been a QB.

I did defintatly over exaggerate last night comparing him to Young and Pryor.

He is definately not those two. Those two have terrible mechanics. Logan Has much, much better mechanics. He also has a legendary QB coach teaching him proper tools, in Mike O'Cain.

I actually do see a big jump from him from his sophomore to junior season.

ELITE ATHELETE!?! ha ha ha yeah about as elite an athlete as big ben rothelesburger lol... that comments tells me that you just ramble without even watching a guy play. He is NOT an elite athlete. And for a guy that claims UNC tarheels they played VT did you not watch the game last year? if you did you would know that. LIke i said watch him play this year and we can pick it up when your more educated... cool smiley

Reppa,

Im going to say this, and Im done with you....I could care less if you believe me or not.

For 8 years, I have been a paid customer of Rivals.com.

Im paying for a reason, because I follow High School Recruiting. My brother is a paid, full-time, collegiate Scout for a major University.

My 2 brothers and I enjoy high school recruiting, we love it. It is one of our hobbies.

And to be honest with you, I could care less if you believe me.

Hey like i said take some time to watch logan thomas this year and we will pick up this discussion when you educate yourself on him... He is not garbage nor is he an "elite" athlete, if you think either of these then you never watched him. This is the last i will post on this topic until after they play UNC. The game is in october sometime, i will remind you to watch and we can pick this up again...

Again, LIKE I ALREADY SAID TO TrUTH, I overexaggerated on him as a passer. He has a lot to learn. He needs a lot more polishing...

But he has Mike O'Cain, (which I'm pretty sure you didn't even know) so I'm sure he will steadily improve.

His mechanics are nowhere near as bad as Pryor or Vince Young.

Hey Aqua, just a little FYI on Logan Thomas, he did in fact play TE at Brookville. They ran a 2 QB system, where Logan played both Quarterback and Tight End. He also played defensive back. (In case Rivals.com didn't tell you that)

Logan is in fact an incredible athlete. He has all of the tools physically, but just needs more experience. He now has one full season as college starter under his belt. In high school, it was not until his senior year when he played QB full-time and gave up his tight end duties.

The guy has the body of Cam Newton, but with much more to offer between the ears. He just needs more experience at QB.

Dude you should just stop. The more years a qb is in an offense the more he improves his accuracy. Barkley first year at USC his completion percentage was 59% last year he was 69%. 57% is not bad for a first year starting sophomore qb.

Reppa, while I agree with you that Logan does not have the speed of Vick or RG3, Thomas is still an elite athlete. Each April the team has something called Iron Hokie days, during which each player is tested in major strength and agility drills.

Last week Logan broke every QB strength record at Virginia Tech and ran a 4.54 40. Not RG3 speed, but quite impressive for being 6'6 254.

yeah i know maybe we are splitting hairs here... It is just when A&O compared him to scrabbling qb's that have limited passing ability that is not what thomas is. He has a huge arm and without question for his size and height he is an athletic freak! I watch him truck a defender for a first down, from the qb position! i had never seen that before, i was like who is that guy lol. Nah but like i said when i think of elite i dont take size and weight into consideration, i pool everyone together, but ok i see your point i can go with it but would you agree that pryor and young are very poor comparisons? oh and yes he is alot faster than i give him credit for (just trying to make a point) smiling smiley would love to see him in a dolphin uniform when he is ready!

Absolutely Reppa, I see what you're saying. Logan does not have elite speed, he has an elite skillset. And you're right, anyone who has watched him play would not compare him to Pryor or Vince Young. I think Logan Thomas is a more chiseled and mobile version of Big Ben. With that being said, I honestly have no idea if he'll be a good NFL QB. I don't even know what to expect out of him next season at Tech. He just needs time to develop.

I will have to say that when you stand next to Logan Thomas it's obvious that the guy is a rare athlete. I played baseball at Tech (back before we were in the ACC, which was important because I was not that good..) and each year I go back to campus for a function that the athletic department has. Over the years 2 football players have stood out to me as elite athletes, just the kind of guy that has something you can't teach. The first being Kam Chancellor, now Safety with the Seahawks, and the second being Logan Thomas.

Mizzou, did you not read my next posts after that when I said I over exaggerated?? Come on dude.

Welcome back Hokie, thanks for agreeing that LOgan is an elite athlete.

Now, I know Thomas played a thumbs uplittle TE at Brookville, mainly to pass to him, but I said he never played TE at Va tech, like fella said he did.

Reppa just like to argue with me.

BTW, welcome back Hokie.
