I was just going to post this. I didn't realize the 3d rounder this year from the BM trade is Carolina's pick. That's pretty good, a top 10 3d rounder. Coupled with next years' 3d, we didn't come out TOO bad in the trade.
With a top 10 2d, and 2 top 10 3ds, we should be able to come away with some good WRs/TEs. That's where the value usually is in the draft--although not the way we've picked lately (horrible string of 2d and 3d rounders).
With our needs, I think we stick out the 2 3s. As Berk pointed out, there is value to be had at the WR spot inparticular. With that being said, I still have very high hopes for Gates to stretch the field. Also I want to see Roberto Wallace be given a chance. It is a shame he had the injury last year because he impressed me during the preseason. For that matter, so did Marlon Moore. Moore seems like he could be a good fit for the West Coast offense. All in all I think we actually have a good core of receivers.
#8 MICHAEL FLOYD WR (BLACKMON HAS A DUI TOO)
#42 HARRISON SMITH SS
#72 LaMICHAEL JAMES RB
#73 DWAYNE ALLEN TE
#103 ORSON CHARLES TE
#145 ANDREW DATKO RT
#196 CHRIS RAINEY KR/PR
#215 NICK FOLES QB
IF we want Tannehill we have to stay at #8 and take him. Even if we think its a reach to do so, we must do it. Because IF we like him and we wait we run the risk of missing out on him completely. We need a QB of the future to develop for a year and Tannehill has the most upside of the bunch. Regardless of value, draft position, reaches, public perception, potential, or whatever...IF we like him we have get him in our uniform when we have the chance.
Same goes for any player at the top of our board in a need position, when we are on the clock.

Officially the worst mock draft I have ever seen.
wHY DO YOU hAVE TO BRING iN dANNY wOODHEAD INTO THE CONVERSATION? wOODHEAD IS GOOD, BUT WE DON,T NEED HIM EITHER jAMES WOULD BE A WASTED PICK BETTER SPENT ON ANOTHER PLAY MAKER ON DEFENSE I THINK.
That's ok Woodhead is a good role player for the Patriots, and well he is white which makes him a rarity at running back. He's already had a better career than Griffin will ever have. That's right bust of the draft RG gone in 4 years.

If we truly want to replace Marshall we should look at this guy in the second round; Tommy Streeter. He's big 6'5", 219, has good feet, fast at 4.4 40 and he can get behind defenders...he's best in the 5-10 yard area though.
Other guys we should take a peek at are; Mohamed Sanu, 6'2", 215, 4.5 40 at his pro day (4.67 at the combine), and Alfonzo Dennard, 5'10", 203, 4.5 40, also in the second round.
I've seen a lot of UM games and Streeter never stood out to me. I was shocked to find out about his size/speed combo, b/c he sure didn't play up to those elite measurables.
The way things have unfolded--the first pick needs to be a QB. The second, a top flight WR, if available, if not a top flight TE, followed by a RT. After that, CB and LBs.
