It’s a NEW DAY in Dolphinland y’all. So stop the incessant cry baby crap and give this NEW REGIME at least one preseason game (LOL) before you declare everything a disaster.

As far as the greater national “media” dumping on Miami, well that’s a pretty soft target right now and it makes a lot of folks happy when they’re piling on and spreading shit on others. That’s just part of the mean-spirited times we live in. People get off by putting others down. It’s classless and pathetic, especially when you know people have agendas.

Negative “news” sells and that’s just a fact. And once you’re thrown into the dirty laundry it’s hard to get out. But the truth is none of this crap matters because we still have the draft, training camp and then the season.

Let’s see what kind of mojo we have in September.

* Keep in mind Peyton is 36, runs the O like he's the coach, and hasn’t proven he can hold up for a season of football. He was NOT a good fit in Miami.

* Matt Flynn has a weak arm and hasn’t proven anything yet as an NFL starting QB. He's NOT some great QB talent.

* Joe Philbin helped Flynn get a decent deal and obviously knows he’s got more legit QB chops already in the stable with Matt Moore. Yea, Matt Moore.

* And speaking of Matt Moore, the kid is in a PRIME SPOT for some significant growth and development to his game. Don’t be shocked when he takes the next step…

* The angst beast aka BM is a total head case and drops TD passes like pennies in the parking lot. He’s a team cancer and it’s good news all around we dumped his ass.

* We’re going to draft a certified Lady killer and end the flag football farce in NE.

* The future price of crow around here is going to be VERY HIGH!

Agreed.

but now we will have to deal with the whole Tebow speculation.

IMO, our best option is to start Moore and draft Tannehill.

I like your positivity BNF, hope your right. It's all up to Philbin to get this franchise turned around. I don't like the odds now, but you just might be right about Moore. We'll see what happens when the real football season begins. However, until proven otherwise I'm going to stick with my hatred of Ross and Ireland.

It's hard to be real positive about the QB position with the track record of the Ross/Ireland cabal.

Tebow - I don't dislike him and I think he'll have a carer. But it will take a certain set of circumstances for him to succeed. Not sure those circumstances exist here. If we still had Ronnie and Ricky in their prime it would be a different story.

Moore - I wouldn't be disappointed with keeping Moore he looked decent end of last year, at least he looked like a QB who could read and throw at an NFL level, something we haven't seen in a while. Still not convinced he'll get a lot better but he's serviceable.

Tannehill - If we keep Moore and draft him I'll feel even better. Athletic, intelligent, good arm. At least TRY drafting a 1st rd QB. Going the other routes hasn't worked out real well.

Being positive doesn't win games. Talent does.

I don't feel as others do about Miami's (supposed) "failure" to land a QB. Other than Manning, there was no franchise QB out there to take.

I'm glad Miami did not think Flynn was worth the money Seattle gave him because, in realty (IMO), he wasn't worth that money! I'm sure Miami would have signed him if he would have accepted what he was worth, but as always, some team is going to overpay a player.

I sure in hell hope Miami won't seriously consider trading for Tebow. Don't get me wrong, I like Tebow and respect what he is all about and was happy for the guy when he showed the whole league he could play QB in the NFL. He just has too many things to work on for me to want him in a Fins uniform. Miami is supposed to be working hard to get an upgrade at the QB position -- Tebow and the rest would not be an upgrade. Moore is much better than everyone left on the market.

Garrad? Give me a break. I sure hope Ireland isn't thinking of signing him to compete with Moore. I really don't even want him as a backup. 34 years old and coming off of major back surgery. I don't think so! If something happens to Moore during the season, then scrape the bottom of the barrel for a replacement for the short period.

It goes without saying that Tannehill is the guy on Miami's radar. However, because of Cleveland not being happy with McCoy, looks like they will go after him, so...if Ireland is really convinced Tannehill is the guy, then they have no choice but to trade up with Minny for him. Gonna have to give up more than what they would like, but it has to be done. Their only other option if they don't trade up is to wait for Weeden, but the danger in that is if another team has their eye on him, they may trade up ahead of Miami's pick and grab him, then the Fins are really in a pickle. Will then have to wait on the 2nd tier guys and hope they get lucky (ala Brady).

I know "hope springs eternal" is cliché but nonetheless:

I get the positive vibe we’ve got a really good chance with Philbin & Co.
More than that, I’ve even opened the door for Ireland to prove he’s grown
and can evolve into (dare I say) a one of the better GM’s.

At this point I think we’ll have the OPPORTUNITY to be competitive
in 90% of our games. That’s doesn’t mean winning 90% by any means,
but we’re not going to be outclassed and easily defeated.

It’s looking more and Moore like we’ll got OT and OG high in the draft
to make sure we have (a) protection and (b) diversification in the running game.
In that scenario I do think a trade down makes a lot of sense.

We could have a mid 20 R1, two R2’s and two R3’s. Add R4 5 6 and 7 and
we should be able to amp the OL, add 2 WR’s and a Lady killer DE/OLB.
Add a developmental QB prospect somewhere in there – for example:

R1 = Lady killer (trade down)
R2 x 2 = OL
R3 x 2 = WR
R4 = QB
R5-7 = best whatever available.

But of course there are endless alternatives to the above. But I want a Lady killer
for sure, OL, WR and a good developmental QB project for Philbin to work
some magic on.

Just do it. And shut UP!
