I think Bess will do VERY well in this offense as well. I'm just wondering who the 3rd guy will be.

The problem with Bess that I could see is his complete lack of speed. He runs the crossing routes very well, but he can't run away from anyone. That said, a more accurate QB could also make Bess better. Time will tell.

Bess gets open and has an amazing low center of gravity. He's a player IMO and I think he'll light it up in Philbin's system. Bottom line, this kid will work his ass off and succeed.

Hartline is not super explosive but has good moves on the run, sneaky speed and will do well with slants and deep cuts IMO. Just keep catching balls Brain…

We also have some developing talent in Gates, Wallace, Moore and Pruitt. I think Philbin will find a player or two in that group.

Add a stud or two in the draft and no one is going to miss the angst beast aka the Bowel Movement.

Haha. This crew ain’t in the crapper.

Get excited. Or get out.

BNF.

Considering we just lost our best WR, and 1200 yards of offense, Hartline better get more catches...lol... My question is how well will division 2 player Edmund Gates have developed from a year in a pro system.... He was fast but, that was about it last year...

The opportunity for our WR's to grow and have their talent maximized expanded exponentially when Philbin was hired.

Having Philbin mold these guys will be like adding high-performance additive to the gas tank. I mean seriously, Baby T was about as creative in the passing game as an empty show box.

I agree BNF, without a strong running game to allow it to work, Sparano had problems being creative enough in the passing game to spead the ball around to different receivers on a drives or in game plans, which made us a one trick pony and easy to predict at times.. Although I was pretty impressed with Daboll last year, we had 1000 yard Rb, 1200 yard receiver...Fasano had a big year, Clay was used creatively, however Hartline and Bess werent catching the ball as much last year, and that hurt us...

More than likely it was because Brandon Marshall made it known that if HE wasn't the primary target 3 out of 4 attempts then he would show his as$ and disrupt the locker room. Remember, all the stories about Sparano has lost the locker room???? This is what happens to other good receivers when you have a diva in their midst.

Bess and Hartline also saw their targets reduced because Moore wasn't all that good at getting through his progressions. He would lock on Marshall, and then check it down. You could see later in the season that he started to get a little better at working through his reads and getting Bess and Hartline more involved.

Old Thread.

Hartline on his way to becoming a top target on this team. If he can maintain his current production he has potential for a 1000+ yard season.

I now expect some Defensive schemes to try to tighten up on Hartline on the outside and this should help to soften the middle of the field with Fasano & Bess.

Hartline certainly has chemistry with Tannehill. He is playing with a certain tenacity & fire that I haven't seen in the past. He is catching almost everything thrown at him. That is a good thing.

Even so, we need to draft at least two big, fast, sure handed, disciplined, WR's and a dynamic TE in next years draft.

Once we do those three things the rest of the draft can be used on LB's, OL, a S, and pass rushing specialists.

not sure we will be drafting any big, fast receivers. GB WR tend to be around six feet and more quick than fast. Most are still fast but not burners. WR need to have good hands, good routes, and good knowledge of defensive coverage since GB WR adjust their routes depending on coverage all the time. Big, fast TE would be great though

Then Robert Woods is the guy we draft.
