Looks like an athlete playing QB. Horrible mechanics. One read and pass. Very RAW. Total project. At least 3 years before he's NFL ready to even compete for a QB spot (unless an NFL team is willing to employ a hybrid college type offense etc.).

what does that mean, i surely dont know...
And how many people were saying no way to RG3 back in october when I told you guys that he was the best qb in the nation, funny how that opinion has drastically changed lol... I watch too much college football and trust me Dixon is far superior to any qb on our roster and more than half the qb's in the league. He has the same skill set as RG3 (dual threat). I agree BNF his mechanics are different but rivers has the WORST mechanics i ever seen in a qb and he is one of the best passers in the league...
Hey dolfanmark, good point but since the NFL is such a wide open passing league i think that every team incorperates some aspect of the westcoast offense so I would think he does...

Im not. He really needs to stink this year. I will be happy with a hit to the pelvic area so that he can be out 5 month.
Now that San Francisco has emerged as a surprise team in the Manning sweepstakes, Alex Smith could hit the open market. Smith started his career in a west coast offense, then played in about 4 different systems, before settling into Harbaugh's WCO last season.
If this plays out over the next day or so, Smith's presence on the market could drive Flynn's price down.
Trade picks to ensure getting Weeden either at the bottom of the first or top of the 2nd.
Lookit. Short of Peyton, if its even Flynn, he is going to have to back up Moore for at least the first few games.
If it WERE Peyton (who I think won't come here), he was only one hit from us having to rely on Moore anyway.
Only RGIII had the option that he would possibly beat out Moore for the starting job.
So NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, it comes down to Moore starting and some other college QB, including Weeden, backing him up.
Weeden led an Oklahoma State team to the top five rating throughout the season.
I could see him guiding our team for about five to ten years. So we get the most value out of the draft in passing on a risky Tannehill, shoring up WR and OL, and then getting Weeden.
If both Weeden and Moore stink up the play, then think Barkley.
If flynn was the answer dont you think that philbin would have pulled the trigger by now? Here is the reality in 2008 matt flynn lead the LSU tigers to the national championship and still was not drafted until he 7th round. Even joe webb out of lowly UAB was drafted in the fifth lol. Now this is the guy everyone is in love with??? He had national attention for most of his collegic career and #1 his senior year and still overlooked why? Why are we just getting around to him?
He was a 56% passer in college, 21 TD and 11 int (just below 2:1 ratio). He was nothing special in college. I would sign him for 5 mill but nothing more. People on this board are willing to throw 10-12 mill at a guy with only 2 pro starts. That makes me laugh. Do people not learn from castle and kolbs...
I've seen MOORE and I've seen FLYNN (admittedly only twice in the regular season). Frankly, I like MOORE better. He has that ability to lead. And he has CERTAINLY achieved more than FLYNN, although playing on a team w/COLUMBO-CAREY and an unready HC. I wonder how HE would've done in GB, and I wonder how FLYNN would've done as QB of the 2011 MIAMI DOLPHINS. After all, FLYNN has always had it easy, so to speak: plenty of time to develop "chemistry" and timing w/his WRs and TEs, and playing for LSU in College, and GB in the NFL.
Here's a last thought: is MIAMI "lowballing" FLYNN, ir is it that Coach PHILBIN doesn't consider him to be as good as his "hype"? I myself am beginning to wonder. FLYNN's resume is 2 games long, as QB of the Packers. Not enough as far as I'm concerned.
