Could the real reason Miami is waiting for Manning be that they are actually interested in a trade for Jake Locker,if Manning signs with the Titans?
I thought I read last year that Ireland was really high on Locker and now he may be able to get his quarterback. This would allow the Titans to surround Manning with more help thru the draft which also leads me to think if Manning is signed and plays 3-4 more years that would put Locker at the end of this 4 year contract, so why not get something for him now. I also really doubt he would like to sit behind Manning for the next 3 years.
Miami would in turn find there quarterback of the future who Philbin could build his offense around.

Would we have to give up the #8 for him???????? No thanks if so.
You can't stress that enough. When Mike Sherman was asked what he looks for in a QB, the first thing he said is footwork. The WCO is all about timing. Sherman times the QBs on their 1, 3, 5, and 7 step drops. They always have to be the same. Much of the offense is almost "robotic." It's 3 or 5 step drop, plant, throw to a spot, and the receiver better be where he is supposed to. There is not a lot of dropping back, surveying around, waiting for a guy to come open. It's bang, bang, bang. And it really demands consistent footwork, quick decisions, and VERY accurate passing.
When you think about what that means, you realize why Matt Moore is a poor fit (sloppy footwork, slow decision making, and accuracy that comes and goes) and why Brandon Marshall wasn't a great fit (runs routes the way he wants to, not how they are drawn up).
I agree with everyone on the accuracy I'm basing this on Ireland and how he feels about Locker.
I guess I just can't figure out what they are waiting for when it comes to upgrading the quaterback position. They have to know Manning is not coming to Miami. I just have a feeling something else is in play?
locker isn't very good. he'd cost our 1st round pick anyway, since they aren't trading the #10 pick last year for anything less than a 1st. Finally, why would they dump locker (their "QB of the future" after signing Manning, who has got only a few yrs left anyway?
