I dont know what to make of this mess guys. I am not buying it that "he hasnt thought about teams or doesnt know how the process works" that is pretty stupid coming from a guy whose talents include being a general!! hell my son is 14 and could tell you where he would like to play and how it works lol. I also dont think for a minute that his comments were a hint to tell the dolphins what to do. Thats way to much of a game to play, when all his agent has to do is say it directly to ross. I just think somehow that we meaning the team, will absolutely screw this up and lose Manning and Flynn. Ross has a history of wanting something cough..cough...cough... and absolutely blowing it.

Don't read too much into - Its all new to me, by Manning.
Hes a smart guy and his agent will see to it that he thinks it thru, andin that he has a good counsel bench with Dad and Bro, and he'll make an informed decision.
Having said all that, I think Miami has a strong hand and Peyton's comments are just where he is now ... in getting off a plane and getting stopped in the parking lot, a good answer for an ad hoc request by a media guy.
I wouldn't read a lot into it, and think Miami has a strong hand to play.
I think Manninng is knows exactly what he wants to do and will do it. Always has been a straight shooter cut the bs guy. Just hope the chips fall our way on this one.

Can't see it. Manning is a no nonsense guy.
He and his agent will narrow his choices to 3 or 4 teams at most.
No way this turns into a 2 month parade of whining and dinning.
Manning wouldn't want to waste the time . He'd rather use it working out with his new team. Not to mention if he drags it out he could end up losing out on his top option if they get nervous and go for Flynn or draft a qb.
Can't see this taking more than two weeks...TOPS

I'd give Manning until 0001 hours on the 13th to decide AND sign with us...after that I'd open up serious negotiations with Flynn. I'd also immediately begin negotiations (if we haven't already) with an eye toward trading for RGIII as well as drafting Tannehill at #8 as a fallback option.
Manning and Flynn would know that they each were not our sole desirable option and that time is of the essence for them signing.
Seriously, the decision is already done. If we want Manning then he’s going to play in Miami for a yacht-load of reasons that no other situation can match. And I believe that to be 99.876% certain.
Now ask yourself, when has BNF misled you? Of course the answer is NEVER on Monday Wilma unless you have a ready made lifestyle waiting for you on South Beach with a laundry list of migrant workers that want to come join the party as well.
The same is true for Flynn. If we want him he’s going to hitch his wagon to the Miami pigskin parade. This is just one of those times when things are playing out really good for us. Now the critical thing is to make the RIGHT choice.
Well, things are looking up for Miami, finally. Personnally I hope we pull the trigger on Manning. The trick is going to be clearing cap space for Manning and Reggie Wayne. Marshall sure is being quite during all this. If we could land both of them together and match them up with Marshall, everyone will especially in the AFC East would start sounding the panic alarms.
A fall back plan should we land Manning and not Wayne would be to hope Richardson falls to us with the eighth pick. THAT would cause panic among other teams as well.
Lots of options here, and it's going to be fun to see how it plays out.
Can you image: Manning, Marshall, Wayne, Bess, Hartline, along with a running back corps of Bush, Richardson, and Thomas. That's a dream team.

You right about that, but God I'd hate to have to pass up on Richardson for a right tackle or a guard in the first. That would SUCK....
This draft fits our needs on the OL. We can do BPA / impact R1 and snag a terrorist like Nick Perry (specifically to END the Lady's career in NE) and go OT in R2 and OG in R3 and end up with THREE IMPACT players on opening day.
After that, we could get sexy and go WR and/or TE in R4 and R5 and hope we hit the lottery on one of them. Add S R6 and R7 and UFA DB's and that's that. Add a hard hitting ILB via FA along with Manning (or Flynn if that's the right choice) and we could be pretty stacked next September.
If Thomas can solve the hammy paradox we're golden.
"Personnally I hope we pull the trigger on Manning" Let's hope the barrel isn't pointing at our own head.
"$$$$$$ Jerseys and season tickets will be flying off the shelves. $$$$$$" The real reason to make this deal-has very little to do with winning football games.

I believe he and his agent have already narrowed it down to about 3 or so teams, with Miami right there. Peyton wants to end his career with a team that has a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl, and with Manning as its QB, Miami has an excellent chance of doing just that; maybe not this year, but making a good run at it next year.
I also see it lasting no more than 2 weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he didn't have a deal in place by the first day of free agency. If he doesn't, teams will probably start going in other directions, with Flynn being the latest "hot QB."
He is already in Miami, so it won't take much for Ross, et al, to wine and dine him (and his agent). Marino "could" take a key role in this, also.
Peyton isn't going to mess around. If he likes what a team offers, and the team itself is to his liking, he will sign quickly, then get to work.

Why are you so scared of the Browns when it comes to flynn?
They don't have the relationships with him we do.
If they want to pay him 20 mill a year they can have him, but Holmgren isnt that stupid.
RG3 thing is over. Manning thing will be over before the FA period starts. Why would Cleveland be in a better position than us to land Flynn?

You seem to believe that Cleveland is the favorite for Flynn...not saying you are wrong....just that I don't understand why you think that is the case.
We have his system...his former OC and will hand him just as big a check as Holmgren.
Other than natural pessimism after missing on RG3 and Manning...what makes you think they are more attractive an option than us to the point where we are "screwed"??
If you want to wait until later to explain that ...ok...I guess.
Trying to read the tea leaves…the fact we’re talking to Manning means he’s our #1 target because we can’t afford to “just explore things” with him and then turn our attention towards Flynn. No matter what are intent we’ll be viewed as missing out on Manning and “settling” for Flynn – who could then decide to go where he’s the #1 choice = Cleveland.
So the mere fact that we’re sitting down with Peyton pretty much defines things IMO. And it doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room on the backside.
