Dude, Perry is another FREAK and would give us bookend FREAKS with Cam. I've looked into Perry a bit and WOW. This dude has the total package. He’s smart, athletically gifted (!) and eats QB like he's snacking on edamame!
He would be a GREAT PICK for us. Immediate IMPACT!
"Truth, are you really saying you'd be happy taking a guard in the first round this year???"
DeCastro is my #1 Pick right now, providing we do not get RGIII. He makes Pouncey, Bush, Thomas and whoever plays at QB all better players. Hell yes I would draft this guy over Perry.
Right, Hooligan. I am skeptical of a 2 game performance myself and have posted so in the past but I am also mindful that in this quarterback hungry environment in Miami, Philbin would be a fool to bring in a QB that he did not have the fullest of confidence in. The real question is whether he is a good judge of talent which I have to assume he is.
I think you ought to reserve your "creeps" feeling for signing Peyton Manning and he plays about 2 games before going out with a career ending injury for all of those people who are so gullible as to believe medical reports from sports doctors.

If we signed manning or Flynn....absolutely.
Been saying DeCastro is a beast for months. Ideally we trade down a little and get hin after adding a qb as a free agent.

Thats why the ideal scenario in my opinion would be to sign Robert griffin 111....This has always been my choice.
I have finally read somewhere that Philbin has told Ireland that he wants Flynn and actually the term was that he "needs" Flynn.
I don't know who the source was. Kinda sounds like it may have come from a fly on the wall, but I read it in the comments section in the Sun Sentinel so, it was unsourced. But, that's the first thing that I've read about Philbin's position on the subject. Now, If there's anything to that then bringing in anybody else would amount to Ireland/Ross giving their coach a vote of no confidence.
It doesn't take much imagination to foresee Ireland/Ross overruling Philbin in favor of Manning and still have a convenient scapegoat in case it doesn't work out.
BUTT, that may not be the case at all, I have been wrong before.
hooligan, if that was true it wouldn't be buried in the comments section of a sunsentinel article; the local and national media would have eaten it up and it would be big news, at least in FLA. so I am not buying it.
as for drafting a guard in the top of the first round, have we learned nothing? We need to draft IMPACT players in the top 10. QBs, pass rushers, shut down CBs, hell even a WR provided he is more like Blackmon and less like Ginn. But ANOTHER interior lineman? Fuggedaboutit.

Same kind of reasoning as to why Irsay would let it be known when Peyton went down that he "really, really" wanted Andrew Luck and that Caldwell and Polian caught the hint and when, at the end of the season, they had given Irsay Andrew Luck they were still "convenient scapegoats" so as to dispell any thoughts that they had "sucked for Luck."

These things have to be "reported" to be true, and even then I am (somewhat) skeptible. Comments are just a fan's opinion/hope.
Besides, if I am not mistaken, if this comment between Philbin and Ireland was true and was "officially" disclosed, wouldn't that be consideered "tampering?"

Sign Manning, R Wayne & P Garcon, trade B Marshall to the Bears for their 2nd rnd pick, trade down in the 1st (picking up another 2nd, giving us 3 #2s), get a pass rusher, RT & RG in the draft. BOOM! There ya go Ireland, do work son!

Well he's no Walters football but who is?
Only pick in his top 10 I had any issues with was couples to the Rams.
They just took Quinn last year and have Long already. Got to think the are getting help for bradford early and often in this draft.
But I’m not draft maven so I guess I’m easy to please and/or fool.
Anyway, Nick Perry sure looks like he could be a SERIOUS IMPACT PLAYER from day one. And I just get chills thinking about him beating the crap out of the Lady in NE!
I mean it’s like totally unfair: one POS non-athlete Lady against 2 beastly monsters on the outside! Seriously, that could END the Lady’s career.
Beyond that, it’s so flag footie ball funny to watch the Lady crap her panties when there’s consistent pressure… She’ll be throwing that pigskin away like a stinky can of tuna!
I like Perry a lot as well. I think drafting a DE instead of RT is the right move for us. I also think we could trade down 5-10 spots and still get Perry and pick up a 3rd rounder or maybe even 2nd rounder.

I don't know if you trade down when there's a player you really want - especially when other teams could trump your move (like the Cheats) and pick that player off a few spots before you...
IMO you trade down when there's no one player that you're targeting and you believe you'll be able to get one of several prospects a number of places later.
Nick Perry was so amazing at the combine I don't think he's going to on the board for very long... If he's the answer opposite Wake then we should grab him. I wanted to trade down and take best avail OT but this kid looks evil!
