they are still gelling and have alot of weapons. I would not be down though i mean they went against the best in the business. I am sure that next time lin will do better...
Carmelo and Lin won't co-exist. 'Melo is a factor when he can be the focal point and hog the ball. Lin is the QB for the Knicks now, I don't think 'Melo can adjust. The Knicks' best bet would be to trade 'Melo before the deadline and get what they can. How about trading him to Orlando with some draft picks and cash for Dwight Howard? That would IMMEDIATELY make NY a contender.
On the other hand, I'm a Heat fan, so what am I saying??!!

While I'd love to have Howard...what am I going to do with Howard, Tyson Chandler and Amare Staudamire?
Actually, from everything I've seen so far. 'Melo will fit just fine with Lin.
Lin doesn't need to score a lot and Melo doesn't need to take 25 shots a game.
If Lin is a 17 and 9 guy we'll be more than happy. He doesn't need to score to key the offense.
Now if I could trade Staudamire and Chandler for Howard we'd be onto something!
If NY is smart they'll hang on to Stoudemire and let 'Melo go. 'Melo has never been a team player. He's not the kind of player you build a team around if you want to contend for a championship. Remember when he was benched during the Olympics? That's because he's selfish.
As for Chandler, imagine bringing him in to spell Stoudemire or Howard! Chandler can play the 4 or 5, and those 3 would give NY the scariest front-line in the NBA. Meanwhile, they have enough talent in the backcourt to absorb the loss of 'Melo. In fact, having those guys in the frontcourt would open up the backcourt the same way Shaq did for Miami when the Heat won the championship.
Remember, NY won a ton of games without 'Melo this year! In fact, I haven't checked, but I have a feeling their winning percentage was better without 'Melo than with him.
Well, I suppose that that makes sense for some of you, I just don't have any interest in any other pro or college sports. If we're not talking football or surfing, I'm not particularly interested.
