We have the tie-breaker over the colts!

LETS GO JAGS! i just looked on NFL.com and the first tie-breaker is by division record and we have a better one than the Colts. It would be nice if these guys lose their last two which would allow us to lose the KC game. (as long as the pats lose another one)

This is incorrect. The sentinel had an article about the phins playoff hopes and we can still split and get in.... we would need to the jets to lose this week, the ravens to lose the last two(possible) and the pats to lose either both games or the last game against the bills....

No it wouldnt; because the Jets would have swept us and have the same record as us. Therefore, we would be the wild card.

Actually people that understand being prepared is a virtue are the ones looking at all possible scenarios. One must account for murphy's law. While I agree with you that we should have a positive mindset that we will win out; we also have to account for less favorable outcomes and see what our other options are.

Not unless everyone in the AFC East loses this week and then Bal and NE lose next week and then we tie with the Jets.
Basically a 1 in 4,300,339 chance...and the Colts already locked up the 5th seed.
What's all this WE stuff. We have no control, we are just fans. WE need to root for the Phins to kick KC AND the Jets, period and not worry about what everyone else does cause WE have no control over it.

Lousy attitude? Rooting for the Phins to win out is a bad attitude? Then maybe it's time for you to root elseware. I'm rooting for the Phins and could care less about anyone else.
It's a moot point now, but if the Dolphins and Colts would have finished tied for a wild-card spot, the first tiebreaker would have been head-to-head (they didn't play) and the second tiebreaker would have been conference record, not division record, as they're in different divisions.

RESPONSE: Typical of you. If you don't agree, you put the post down.
All of these 'mathematical possibilities' are completely unimportant. At this point, just overcome the obstacles in front of you. Our team is lucky enough to be able to control its own destiny, so do it. Control what you can control, and don't worry about the rest of it.
P.S. Draftniks, relax. The draft will be here soon enough. Now - concentrate on a winning(!) team.
