Here is what people (for some reason) are forgetting. McCoy never, ever coached an option offense until last year. He did that because his Qb is limited to an option offense. Thats all Tebow can run.

RG3 is not an option QB, he does not come from an option system. RG3 is a pocket passer who has the ability to run, if he needs too.

McCoy's offense is the same one Daboll runs. Daboll, McCoy, Josh McDaniels, and Jeff Davidson. They are all Charlie Weis disciples. They all coached together. And McCoy has worked under both McDaniels and Davidson. If McCoy is the choice for coach, Daboll stays, and the offensive system does not change a bit.

I'm down with that.

Yea, some degree of continuity would be welcome at this point.

IMO Dabaoll did a good job, as in a solid C+ or maybe B. And I still believe the lockout hurt this team disproportionally because of the new offense system being implemented and new key personnel. Couple that with the QB change and the O didn’t have the cohesion it needed – and it took half the year to get some degree of coherency going.

This is why I feel Moore could benefit substantially from the offseason IF he works his ass off developing his game and mastering the offense form the inside out. Regardless of what some of you say, the kid has some nice physical chops and positive upside to his game (things Henne dramatically lacks and therefore will never be a legit NFL Qcool smiley.

Add a dominant RT and G to the mix and maybe a stud TE, project the development of Thomas, and one of our young WR’s stashed away, along with Reggie and Marshall (who needs a jugs machine in his backyard) with an INNOVATIVE O minded HC –
and we could score some points…

Moore has been in this same offense his entire career. He's not going to master it any more than he already has.

if we bring in an offensive guy as HC with the aim not to change a thing offensively, then what's the point?

Moore played under Jeff Davidson in Carolina. He runs the same offense as Daboll. They are both Weis guys. Back in May, Moore's experience in this offense was the reason being cited as to why he was a natural fit for the Dolphins.
