it won't be bowles if for no other reason then it would look horrible to fire sporano, lose nolan, and the promote the DB coach
so that leaves mccoy and philbin. my money is on mccoy, since a moron like ireland and ross will be impressed that he installed the option and led one of the most inept offenses in the league. 3 points to KC in the last game of the year? pathetic!
frankly, philbin doesn't seem like any offensive mastermind. wasn't he a former OL coach like tony boy? and he didn't call plays in GB, much like tony S. if we bring him in, it's to bring along flynn---and at this point, who gives a crap. flynn will suck or he won't. my money is on suck, if we sign him.

McCoy seems to be the guy, and I could live with that. Wish they'd give it more time, but with the senior bowl on the horizon. McCoy seems to be the only one available. Mike Shula is out there somewhere, why don't they call him up. I'd go with someone who at least has a history and his heart would be into bringing the program back to it's better days. I think the fans would go along as well.
It'll probably have to be quarterback by committee at least for the first part of the season. Might even want to bring Chad Henne back at least for QB camp. No new coach is going to trade away future draft picks and current players for a QB. Not during his first year.
What a crap-fest!
These are the only scrubs that are available?!
Now we've got to rush a decisions in order to make the Senior Bowl?!
This will be Ireland's make or break hire. His job and reputation depend on it.
I still can't friggin believe he couldn't bring in Gruden!!
He's the only guy worth a damn that's still out there.
Ireland is on wafer thin ice, he better bring in a winner!
GB has the most dominant QB in the league and just got bounced from the playoffs at home, Denver’s O was mostly a prayer, and Bowles is a solid guy but…we’re elevating a position coach from Sparano’s staff? Really?
I don’t quite get that. My opinion of course. But somehow I don’t get the sense of a dynamic move here? To the contrary, it seems a bit like a trial balloon that already popped.
Earth to Miami. Can the celeb owners perform a coup?
I really hope it will be somebody that has a history of developing QBs, offensive minded and can manage a clock.
Also, kind of young. McCoy I believe fits the ticket. So does the offensive coordinator at Tampa Bay. It would really be nice to have someone with head coaching experience at least somewhere. Shula fits that ticket and they didn't even interview him. Probably too much a threat to Ireland from the start, bringing back a Shula that is.
On a happier note Dre Kirkpatrick got busted last night for pot in Florida, I'm sure he'll fall in the draft now. So if Ireland picks up a offensive lineman and Kirkpatrick in the first and second rounds, I'd be happy. Well at least as happy as I can be with no QBs to draft.

Mccoy? WTF is wrong with you all...Mccoy was horrible with Kyle Orton at the beginning of the year....SO bad that Orton got benched and Tebow was giving the job...Denver and Tebow's offense was nonexistent all season... With Tebow pulling it out in final minutes to win games... The defenses kept it close not the offense... Then finally Mccoy was running the spread option for the majority of Tebow... Something we surely are not going to run... So please tell me why in the world, any of you want Mccoy as our HC... That is ludicrous to me.. Mccoy would be my last choice.... What has he proven?
Bowles: Just a move to make the NFL think Ross is ab equal opportunity employer (see Rooney rule) Or is the fact that Bill Parcells picked him still mean something?
Philbin: We get this guy its Flynn all the way.
Mccoy: We have a chance at moving up to grab Griffin. Tebow kind of offense only much better with RGIII.

Not True. We crushed the Jets and this exact Team as is would place at least 2nd in the AFC East and make a Wild Card Push .
Crappy Offseason/lockout had an effect. Saprano needed to go last year. We are on the Mend. See what the draft brings us.
Reminds me one year when Kippy Brown was our OC and his name was mentioned in NFL circles as a possible head coach, bc our offense was OK for 1/2 a season. I imagine Denver's reaction is the same one we had to those reports.

He also NEVER had as much success before dingleberry. His Offense would Fit RGIII perfectly. With out defense it could be Lethal.

Same happened with Mularkey from Atlanta. What's up with people hiring failed coordinators from other teams?

If you knew anything about football you would realize that your comment is not true.
Option offenses will never succeed in the NFL. It basically was shut down this year and outside of Tebow's miracles would have been the most enigmatic offense in NFL history.

Well for me, it's because Mccoy actually called the plays in Denver. Philbin does not in Green Bay. Please note my manage a clock wish, something Tony "Fist Pump" couldn't do. Of course Cam Cameron called them in San Diego too, and we all know how that worked out.
I wouldn't be too unhappy with Philbin, given the circumstances. We're in a pickle right now and need a staff for the Senior Bowl. We really need to raid that defense at Alabama. I'm tired of watching Brady taking us apart year in and out.
