With guys like Dre Kirkpatrick, Donta Hightower, Courtney upshaw. Whitney Mercilus, Vontaze Burrfict, Quinton Coples, Mark Barron, likely available at 8/9, could we choose to snag one and take OL, TE in 2-4 or even drop down and get 2?
Most seem to have us have us taking Riley Reiff or Jonathan Martin at 8/9
Cleveland has 22 & 37, & 68
We could really load up with Flynn + 22,37,41,68,72,103
Some mocks avail
1 Mercilus, Jenkins, Burrfict,Martin
2 Alson Jeffrey, Dwight Jones, Jared Crick, Vinny Curry, Irvin (2 picks)
3 Dwayne Allen, Markelle martin, Datko, Fleener, Streeter
4 Orson Charles, Michael Egnew,Ladarious Green , Levi Adcock
I have seen Burfict since HS days and he is a beast, could be a pro bowler in the NFL
.
With Starks Langford, & Merling getting old or FA's we will need to add depth
Looks like Flynn is our best bet through FA or even sign and trade for henne as they are going to lose him to the highest bidder in FA.
Reading some tweets today that green bay isn't planning on tagging Flynn, the tag isn't meant as a loop hole for sign and trades, NFLPA would probably fight it this time. Pats got away with it because Brady was coming off a major inj........and well, they're New England, they get special rules.
We are going to make a couple sign and trade deals...Solia and or Cam Wake, to move up... Both contracts are up, and both are big time assets, that any team would love to have in a heartbeat...If we want to keep our draft pick, we trade them both, if we want to give up a draft pick, we trade one of them...

This isn't the NBA Crowder, why would Solia and Wake do sign and trades when they can pick where they go?

reference- See Julius Peppers and what happen in that situation...Franchised year after year and then finally Chicago gave up the house for him to Carolina when he wasnt even under contract other then the threat of another franchise tag...
You tell the player, we are gonna franchise you if you dont, on a one year deal...You do the sign and trade, you get a long term contract for 5 years times what i have to pay u in franchise... Set your family for life, vs the risk of playing under a 1 year contract... pretty simple stuff really
Nope, but I woudlnt bet against it..
The Rams have Bradford, if Fisher considers him a franchise Qb. And he plans on trading aways the picks for future 1st rd picks...What is more secure then a franchised elite NT, and or a Probowl, DE or OLB with the amount of sacks Wake has gotten the last 2 years...
Both positions highly coveted... get players that are developed and help u immediately, that is how u turn around a team...If we want a QB that bad, and QB is the most important position... WHy not?
Damn, I am not sure, I always thought it was a trade, every year when the franchise tags was placed on him, he requested to be traded, I always thought that was what finally happened.. still possible though IMO...

Are you suggesting that we should have let Soliai walk since it was to insulting to Cameron Wake that we paid Soliai More money than him?
Trade Soliai, trade Jake Long, but do not trade Cam Wake. We will fall apart on defense without him. We should be able to cope somewhat with losing one of the other two but without Wake we will have zero pass rush.

True but that was NE who has deep pockets. GB doesn't.
And Cassel was coming off an 11-5 year filling in for Brady. He was far more of a known commodity. They knew there were at least two teams Denver and KC that were going to want him.
