It will literally take a miracle for Nolan to be here next season.

F*ck! rat bastards... just kidding, it is on us, not them from what I understand-

What I understand about Nolans and his contract, is if the Dolphins want him, he basicly has to stay... Nolan doesnt have the discrection to quit his job in Miami, the contract is weird, it is multiple years, but has to be chosen to renew it every year, by discretion of ownership, not employee...So if we want Nolan, he stays from what I have read up about it....which gives me a warm feeling inside.... that is unless Ireland and Ross, let him walk.........

Why not head coach? Harbaruch and Singletary inherited a lot of his talent

Bowles DC (unless raiders steal him)

Zach Thomas & JT?

Any new coach will want his own staff, let him walk but see if you squeeze a 5th rnd pick out of it.

Not any, as long as we dont hire a defensive head coach, just about anyone would want Nolan to cover the defensive side of the ball... He is a top guy... Fisher, Cowher, Zimmer, no, but I assume Gruden would keep Nolan.... He isnt getting Kiffing back from his son Lane IMO. SO it all depends...

lol...maybe maybe...
I just believe we are a perfect fit for Gruden and he wants to coach again... even his family has speculated Jon going to HC again over the last 2 years... I just dont think it is gonna be easy, you have to make him a deal and promise he cant refuse.... so, that is how I feel... I dont think we have obviously put our best foot forward in this coaching search............ if that makes me Linus, so be it...smileys with beer

Does anyone know if Nolan is under contract for next year?

If he is, we don't have to let him interview for a DC job...its a lateral move.

If he's not, well then its a moot point and he can do whatever he wants.

He is under contract but we can terminate it with out a pay out each year, he can not terminate it...

Yes I assume when someone ask a question, they would like an answer, not always easy to interpret the intentions of someones question or post, so you just answer, but now the rolling of the eyes, as a response...I dont get so, I guess i just do the same now roll my eyes to yur response...lol....eye rolling smiley

If he's gone, oh well. He's a great DC, but he'll be a mediocre HC.

It's odd for Atlanta to want him, though. Their issues were clearly on offense, not defense. Why would they want a defensive-minded HC?

Their defensive Coordinator left too. Its not for their HC position, Mike Smith is still there. But both Coordinators for Atlanta left.

This sucks.

Our FA is going to take 2 steps back from all this. Us as fans can only hope and pray that we can make atleast 3 steps forward.

I dont see it happening this year. Normally when major coaching staff changes take place, it sets you back a couple years.

Lets just hope we find the next Jim Harbaugh and not the next Cam Cameron.
