X Raiders coach new Dolphins coach.

I'm thinking Jackson might not be a bad pick as a coach.

He had the Raiders heading in right direction till QB got hurt.

Players seemed to like him.

Palmer just sucks, I knew that before he was signed.

His offense is attacking.

I like the idea.

I'd like to believe we could do better - and Bowles fits that mark...

Oh wait, he's interviewing for the Raiders HC job...

The irony...

Moore had better stats then Bradford, why would I not want him?

They went in the hole AFTER the QB went down and they had an old (franchise) QB that most of us knew sucked pull them down the drain.

I think Palmer threw like 20 int's in his short time there.

If I have to explain to you that Moore is a journeyman with a weak arm, who has peaked...that Bradford is a 2nd year player who still has upside....that ST Louis O-line and receiving corps were an embarrassment to then NFL....that despite our miserable record, our coaching staff was so much better than ST Louis staff that its not even worth comparing...

If I have to explain all of that to you, then its really not worth going into because you aren't going to change your mind...are MIA1?

This topic is misleading and needs to be prefaced as opinion. I have seen 0 reports of us interviewing Jackson for our HC vacancy.

He was the driving force behind way over paying for Carson Palmer, then in his season ending press conference he starts making wild demands of wanting more power (which he has come out and says he regrets doing)........no thanks!

Henning and Daboll never coached togethor here.

Nolan is one of the best D Coordinators in the entire league.

I know that didn't. One bad OC after the Other. The whole staff under Sparano past and present were toxic.

You speaking about credibility in any discussion is the height of hilarity.

First of all...Jeff Ireland has NEVER coached anything on this team let alone in the context of this discussion (this season). Seriously...how can you expect anyone to take your nonsense to heart when you don't know the difference between a GM and a member of the coaching staff? I really should stop right here because your OBVIOUS hatred of "THE Truth" clearly taints your ability to think or debate logically.

But I'm a glutton for punishment so I'll soldier on.

Henning is old news. Moore never played for him here so using him in an argument over Moore vs Bradford is just stupid.

...and Daboll is HEAD and SHOULDERS better (imho) than the OC Bradford has had to work with in St Louis. Heck he made Colt McCoy look like a draft STEAL in 2010 in Cleveland and made Matt Moore look like a decent NFL starting QB the next year.

...and despite Sparano's being a bad coach...his career record as a HC is 29-32 (.475 winning %) which is LIGHT years ahead of Steve Spagnuolo's 10-38 (.218 wining %).

The Truth,

You think Daboll is better than Josh McDaniels as an OC??

Im not sure of that.

Our staff was light years better than St. Louis in the context of the coaching Bradford received there and Moore was exposed to here, which is the discussion CB intruded upon with his shotgun blast of poppy cock.

As for the rest of the league...I think the bulk of our staff stacks up very nicely with even the best teams in the league.

Where we were near the bottom of the league was where it mattered most...Head Coach.

Yes I do. But if you wanted to argue they were on similar ground I wouldn't debate the point.

McDaniels had a great year with AWESOME talent and then bombed in Denver.

Daboll has gotten impressive production form less. Frankly I'm more impressed with what Daboll has done with Moore and McCoy the last two years as well as Bush and Peyton Hillis.

McDaniles got great production from HOF players like Brady, Welker and Moss. They carried on without missing a beat after he left. He struggled in denver. Makes you wonder...

Daboll made Cleveland competitive with a rookie 3rd round "project" QB...a cast off FB/RB on his 3rd team and Muhammed Massquoi at WR. Then he came here and updraged our offense without even an off-season to install hos offense. Cleveland's Offense went off a cliff after he left. Our got better under the WORST of conditions.

For my tastes...that's way more impressive than McDaniles career to date.

I really liked Jason Garrett as a head coach a few years back, so I'm keeping my mouth shut. So many varibles . My heart really wanted Gruden and I thought he really wanted this Job. Again I was wrong. This Fisher guy doesn't seem to really want it either so I'm at a loss. What i do know is that for some reason , since Shula left something has really gone wrong in south fla becuase people seem to be avoiding it like the plague. Maybe we need to develop a coach? Make Chad Pennington the QB 's coach. In case this next guy flakes on us in a few seasons. Bring him along. I'm at a loss...........confused smiley

What we need 1st and foremost is a QB. Until we get that, it doesnt matter who the Coach is.

RESPONSE: Oh, come on. I know Ireland is the GM. I have advocated cleaning out the whole crew! Everybody on board knows this. I even posted once that I would fire the OWNER ROSS if it were possible.

But of course, I do make allowances for learning disabilities and for people who take things quite concretely and are unable to free their minds to analogize.

RESPONSE: Read carefully above, I particularly separated my post from any discussion of the merits of your point concerning the quarterbacks. My only point was that if your argument was premised on us having a better coaching staff than ANYONE, you were bonkers. Bonkers from Yonkers!

RESPONSE: Yeah, that brilliance led us to our wonderful start of the season.

Heck he made Colt McCoy look like a draft

RESPONSE: And Colt McCoy ranked how high among QBs this year?

and made Matt Moore
> look like a decent NFL starting QB the next year.

RESPONSE: That was all Matt Moore. He told them to go f_ck a duck when they tried to have him run the same plays that Henne just bowed down to and run.

IT WAS ALL MATT MOORE AND NONE OF THE GODDAMN COACHING STAFF!!!!

I feel ya TCPF...Its frustrating when you can't find what you used to have.

But at the end of the day, I'm not sure you are right about people avoiding us.

JJ took this job. He was one of the top coaches in the league...ever.

Wannstedt jumped at it.

So did Saban, and Cameron and even Bill Parcells.

No doubt we made some bad choices since Shula retired, but I don't think we had any problems attracting top talent until the last year, and that has far more to do with our lack of a QB than anything else.

I love pennington as a coach. I'd hire him in a minute. I think he has great HC potential someday.

But there are other guys out there that fit that description as well.

Fisher is pretty good. He's a know commodity, even if he's not an elite guy. If he passes, you just need to go find an assistant somewhere with HC qualities and then get him a QB so he can succeed.

Don Shula was a hell of a coach. But he had the benefit of THREE immortal QB's running his teams throughout his career.

There are a lot of good coaches who never got the chance to be great because they never had a QB.

Its tough, but you need them both as a franchise to be successful.

not really true. post shula we got JJ, who was by far the top option and wanted the job big time. We also got Saban who everyone tried to hire for years. CamMoron was hired and I think we could've had our pick. Sporano was Parcells boy, and we got Parcells when the Falcons really wanted him and anyone else too. Only in the past year, with Harbaugh and now MAYBE Fisher does it seem like coaches don't want us. But if we get Fisher then Harbaugh will be the only one who got away
