Wow. Not sure how you get there.
The guy played parts 16 seasons. The last was carrying a clipboard in Miami for a few weeks.
He lost the first 3 at the bottom of a liquor bottle.
His 12 years in Minnesota were ridiculously good BEFORE the era of the pass first, 2nd and always NFL.
He went to 8 Pro bowls and was 1st team all pro twice.
When he retired, only Rice and Lofton were ahead of him on the all time yardage list.
And while there may have been guys at the same level, I'd dare to say that there has never been a WR in the NFL with a better set of hands.

Roaf was terrific but he's boarderline. Won't bother me if he get sin. Won't surprise me if he doesn't

Dawson isn't even the top Center in Steeler history but he's like Roaf for me. Borderline guy...

Could be. He has the resume.
I have no issues with him getting in.
I'd just put Carter, Martin and Parcells in before him.
Jack Butler or Dick Stanfel. Those old school dudes were tough. They didn't have facemasks on their helmets and the helmet was just like a bicycle helmet or a flap of leather. Their heads were like their helmets.
And How can I not vote a guy in who used his melon for a helmet??
fyi: Before his arrival in 1983 as Head Coach of the NY Giants, the Giants were a laughing stock of the NFL. He transformed that team into one that possessed probably the most dominating defense ever seen on a football field. He went against conventional theory and championed the return of the 3-4 Defense, a strategy that continues to win games in the NFL today.
Some names off the Parcells coaching tree:
Bill Belichick, New England Patriots
Tom Coughlin, New York Giants
Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints

I don't think that's the case.
Football reference.com has them only playing together for the 1988 season. That was Dawsons rookie year and Websters 15th (he was 36).
It has Dawson playing in 5 games at RG and Webster playing all 16 at C.
Seems that Dawson replaced Webster (Webster played parts of 2 more seasons at KC) but not when they were both on the field together.
And he was how old at the time? This guy went to Pro Bowls playing at a time when one of the best centers of all time, Dwight Stevenson, was playing. YOU do the math.

You must be from Texas, where I believe the removed math from text books a while back...
Stephenson's career ended in 1987.
Dawson's started in 1988,as a RG. He didn't make his first pro bowl until 1992....well after the two best centers of all-time (Stephenson and Mike Webster) had retired.

Jim Otto, 10 time All AFL (pre-1970 merger), 3-time All Pro (post-merger).
Mel Hein, along with Webster, were the two centers selected for the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team.
Jim Ringo, 10-time All Pro.
Even Jay Hilgenberg, a 7 time All Pro, is in the discusson.
It's interesting to me that no one voted for Kevin Greene. In 4 fewer games, Greene had 20.5 more sacks than JT. His numbers of fumble recoveries, safeties, Pro Bowls, and All Pro selections are all very similar to JT. I think JT is the better all around player, and he has more big plays, with forced fumbles and defensive TDs. But, 160 sacks for Greene is a ton. And I have to think that if you don't think Greene is worthy, then JT is borderline at best. And Chris Doleman, in the same number of games, had 11 more sacks than JT. And he had more Pro Bowl selections than JT. And no one voted for him either.
