Yes, it is I.

(see ChyrenB...this is why I had my former handle in my signature when I came back).

Glad to be back and thanks for the kind words.

fyi...my account was disabled at my request. Couldn't deal with a certain posters delusional paranoia any longer. I couldn't re-activate it so I went with a more provocative handle. I had explained this in my signature in order to avoid confusion for the short term, but that very same delusional poster complained about it so I changed it yet again. Sorry.

Hey Mike,

The point of my snarky comment was that some people can't accept that there are actually two view points in this debate and BOTH are correct from their point of view. Instead they have to insult or belittle those that don't agree with their position as if that somehow makes their opinion correct...or them some sort of super fan or 'true' fan.

Fact is there are two clear ways to approach rooting for this team:

You can view things from the perspective of your Head Coach and players which is "nose to the grind stone...all that matters is the game in front of you."

Or you can view things from a big picture/GM perspective where you would like to win now, but you have to be focused on putting the team in a position to be successful for the long term and accumulating the assets necessary to achieve that goal.

The point is that NEITHER view point makes someone a better fan than the others and anyone that suggests it does lacks the imagination necessary to understand the importance of BOTH view points in an organization.

Now I must ask, since it is your handle and I read your description but i am still curious.... Which of the substantive theories of Truth, are we basing this Truth on my friend?

While there certainly is a healthy mount of irony in how that played out...its nothing out of the ordinary. I asked to have my account deleted. Curt did so and put a hold on the account so nobody could use it. I couldn't reactivate it because of the block, and he wasn't around to remove it...so....voila!...now you get THE Truth. winking smiley

THE Truth is what it is my friend.

Sometimes you like it. Sometimes it hurts to hear it.
Some embrace it. Others "can't handle it" and prefer to live in a fantasy world.

But regardless of the reactions it evokes, THE Truth is always what it is:

"THE Truth"

thumbs up

Oh, yes, absolutely. The idea of true debate has gotten lost on the internet. I blame Jerry Springer.

I would argue that there are more approaches, but I get your drift.

And some people believe in the Easter Bunny...but that doesn't change THE Truth, does it?

Truth is not a theory..its a reality. Its not a label, nor a theory. Its an Absolute.

The fact that some may not understand THE Truth, or may be positive the earth is flat doesn't change the fact that its not flat. It doesn't change THE Truth of the matter. It only highlights the fact that their perspective is wrong and they haven't been exposed to or embraced THE Truth as of yet.

Ignorance of THE Truth is not THE Truth. It's merely ill-informed ignorance, and that can only be changed by learning, and embracing, THE Truth.

The truth is subjective. Always has been , always will be. You want to believe it , it will be the truth.

I believe what you are talking about is "Truthiness" which is slightly different than "Truth".

So if I want to believe that I can breathe water instead of air that will be true?

I'm going out on a limb here and I'm going to suggest that THE Truth is that I can't do that no matter how much I might want to believe it.

What can I say...I'm a huge fan of irony.

Every time I experience it, it reminds me that there is a God, and that she has a sense of humor.

Treasure, you are right in certain theories of truth, truth is considered subjective. What "The Truth" is referring to is An Absolute truth, would be something that passes every subjective test or validation on the largest scale of the world hold....2+2=4. Humans breathe air not water.....
Your point on truth being subjective defintely has value....which is why i asked the artist formally known as PF2 to define his truth for fun.... His new name has inspired me, I think I might change my name to "The Voice" .....like in that movie "Man on Fire"...Or maybe just the pie symbol, or the happy face guys that roles his eyes....what do you think? Would it go over well? Do I care....lol
