Last night on MNF, Drew Brees eclipsed the single season passing record set by Dan Marino in 1984.

Records are made to be broken and this one took a heck of a long time to do it.

Congrats to Dan for his 1984 feat and to Drew Brees for his record breaking accomplishment.

Maybe this will lure Dan out of retirement to prove that this record deserves an asterisk because of the current league rules.

Has it really been 27 years? The 1984 season will live forever in my head.

Dan is/was truely one of a kind.

I wish dan would come back...

I know for sure he is better than moore or henne. Even at his age.

And that was just figuratively speaking......................dan cant throw anymore....But this was just my way of saying moore and henne are both a piece of $H!T.

sure glad we got jamar fletcher and culpepper instead of brees. would've been nice to have marino's record broken by brees as a member of the phins

It's seems like the QB position hasn't been high on this franchise's priority list ever since Dan retired.

There's been no effort whatsoever by the Dolphins to obtain a top prospect QB in the 1st round whatsoever. It makes me sick. Yet for so many years, the face of this franchise was our QB.

You would think the powers that be for this team could put two & two together and figure out the obvious - it takes a franchise QB in this day and age for a team to have greatness year after year.

Here are the quarterbacks that I advocated us drafting since Dan Retired:

Colin Kaepernick (also liked Gabbert)
Joe Flacco
Brady Quinn
Matt Leinart
Philip Rivers
Drew Henson (I would have taken a flier on him late)
Drew Brees
Dante Cullpepper

I remember I wanted us to take Giovani Carmazi the year Tom Brady was drafted, as long as we are coming clean (this was in the pre-internet era)

We weren't the only team that blew it on Tom Brady. Obviously.

And right after Brady we also missed on Chasper Poindexter as well as Cashmeer Bobunski. Oh well, hindsight don't fail me now.
