ok everyone dont yell at me but this is just my opinion. I do not think we need to draft a franchise qb this year at all. I think it will be way to costly for us to move up and get a luck or griffin and i dont think they will help us at all. Does anyone remember how many rings Dan has?? Qb alone cant win it and Dan wasted a career proving it. so forget the qb. Moore and a FA veteran will suffice. what we need is a coach that will provide the killer instinct and can make adjustments when needed. we need another rb cuz honestly thomas is a joke. We need a TE that can catch and block and bull his way around. Maybe clay i dont know, didnt see enough of him. And some o line and db and wr and we will be set. So trade of long, hartline, will allen and anyother db you want. keep marshall gates and bess get rid of fasano and the other clown and get some picks and pick up some FA and turn this around. Oh and one more thing fire freaking Ireland!!
you're on the right track, maybe a little extreme(trading Long), but I tend to agree with you about not salvaging the future for RG3 because we have no shot at Luck. Indy will undoubtedly take him.
Barkley's not an option, so the price will be way to high to take such a high risk player.
We need too many pieces to the puzzle player-wise to improve this team.
A Grahm/Witten/Gronkowski type is greatly needed. Clay is not even close to that type.
FS - major need (a ball hawk hitter that lets nothing get behind him)
OL - major need (RT/RG nedd serious upgrades)
OLB - major need (JT is over, giving Brady all day to throw without
blitzing will forever haunt us)
MLB - high need (pass coverage skills on emerging TEs a must with run
stuffing ability)
RB - high need (Thomas seems fragile, Bush need relief, Hilliard...nuff
said)
QUALITY DEPTH - aways a need
What really needs to happen is for Ireland to spin some of that same magic that found him Tony Romo in Dallas. Find a stud QB in the 3rd or 4th round (please not the 2nd).
Obviously the #1 need is getting a quality HC. Someone who can match up IQ-wise with Billicek. A motivator, adajustment making, take no prisoners type. Until we find that person, everthing else is meaningless.

RE: I tend to agree with you here. But, I don't think JT is done. I think he has more left in the tank but I think he needs to be relegated to stuational duty. We need to draft a guy that can not only rush but that can also cover to play olb full time. I think we are OK in the middle but need to draft quality depth all over the team. The only thing I'd add to your list is a big, fast, dominant WR...the problem here is that no one in this years draft is fast enough...none of the guys with size have the speed to run away from guys. 4.47 ish isn't good enough but it is a very solid place to start. I'd also add a QB even if we can't get one in the first round...there are still some good prospects beyond Luck and Griffin. As far as Clay goes I think the kid has quite a bit of upside but I'd hedge my bet with a high quality athletic TE.
RG- Vernon Carey ranks 15th in the league among right guards by profootballfocus.com. His overall grade among all guards is exactly the same as Richie Incognito's. After struggling pretty mightily early in the year with pass protection, he has actually settled in pretty well. As much as Carey loves Miami and playing for the Dolphins, it is easy to envision him coming back in 2012. With an offseason to lose some weight to be more mobile at G, he might be serviceable.
RT- Colombo ranks 70th among tackles by PFF, and he has to go. But, we may have an answer in John Jerry. Jerry has been ok at LT, but it's been against two of the weaker pass rushing teams in the league. Earlier in the year, Sparano said he had been most impressed with Jerry's work at T during practices. If he can slide over and play RT, this need could be filled.
DE- Kendall Langford is a free agent. He ranks 17th among 3-4 DEs by PFF, and even though he has no sacks, he leads all our D linemen with 26 QB pressures and hits. While Odrick may be ready to step in and start, but Langford has given us quality play for over 500 snaps this year. Those have to be replaced by someone.
NT- Paul Soliai is a free agent. He presents an interesting catch 22. He is a key part of our run defense. And our run defense has been so good that we go to our nickel and dime packages very often. And when we do that, he comes out of the game. He has only played about 420 snaps this year. You cannot justify paying his salary for the number of snaps he is on the field. So, like it or not, he will likely get more money from someone else, and NT becomes a need again.
OLB- We need another pass rusher opposite Wake. Misi may be solid, but he does not appear to be an impact player. I hope JT doesn't retire and comes back in a specialist role. He is second on the team with 7 sacks, so there is still something there. But, if he does return, it absolutely has to be as a specialist and nothing more. His leadership is valuable.
CB- Sean Smith ranks 105th among corners by PFF. He has had a lousy year. And he's not physical enough to play FS. So, you may have to replace him. Jimmy Wilson showed some good things, but he is clearly behind Nolan Carroll on the depth chart. We'll see how the team feels about both Carroll and Wilson as viable starting/nickel corners.
FS- we still need an answer here. I wonder if Jimmy Wilson could be that guy in the long term. He is certainly physical enough. And he would bring some cover skills to the position. Can he handle the mental aspect of it?

Yeah that did it for me too..............
Fiedlerhater with the handle you have you should know better........After what you supposedely went through with fiedler you still say we dont need a qb?
SamSam really??? seriously??? dont you remember #13?? franchise qb any team would have given anything to get him and what we won crap with him. To get luck or any other qb worth the franchise label will cost this team a freaking ransome and then some. forget moving up for a qb trade players and stock pile picks, load the damn team up with players you need, get a freaking coach and gm. lets see what moore has and if nothing then get a qb the next year. you wouldnt take peyton and enough pics to build a team this year?????? No way in hell would i get a qb and not have other players ready. I know im in the minority here but i dont think a qb alone will make this team that much better. think about it seriously. who will catch it?? who else but reggie will run it? who will block?? who will stop the other team?? ohhhhh i forgot andrew luck does all this..... not!
ok guys, whatever. shit can moore and trade the absolute farm for luck and griffin and when they win 8 games let me know how the playoffs look. Im not saying that a qb wont help but its not putting this team in the superbowl alone. but everyone thinks it will so hey, i will either eat crap or be throwing it in a year. Just for me way to many many holes to blow it all on a maybe. Hell we dont even have a damn coach yet so lets start there.
