I've been thinking what mix does it take to win?

Is it 50% talent on a team, 30% QB, and 20% coaching?

It is not all QB as many teams have solid QB's but are not winning. Carolina, Rams.

When Brady went down a few years ago the Pats kept right on winning so it is not all QB either.

Tony cost us 4 games this year playing not to lose and sitting on the lead, so coaching is important.

50% QB, 30% talent, 20% coaching.

Just look at the Colts, perennial 13-3 EVERY SINGLE YEAR...lose Manning....1 win.

The flip side to that A & O, look at the 9ers. Harbaugh has to get a ton of credit for turning that team around.

I dont think you can clearly define it, IMO... If you have amazing talent on defense and offensive line, then most Qb's are gonna do well, the challenge is how well they play when they dont have talent around them... Manning is a good example, but he only won 1. He is 80 percent of the Colts IMO but he is a once a generation player.
Phillip Rivers is one of the most talented Qb's in the game, but with a lousy coach and talent departing, he looks horrible this year...

Depending on how good or dominant one part is, will depend how important the other parts IMO....

Take Brady off the pats - 3 win team. Take Aaron Rodgers off the Packers - 5-6 win team. Take Brees off the Saints, 4-5 win team.

The Qb is undoubtedly, and unquestionable the most important thing to a franchise.

With one, you win. Without one, you lose.

Once again, when Brady went down in 2008. the Patriots kept right on winning and finished 11-5 with Cassel. Hardly a 3 win team.
Put a talented young college QB behind a crappy o-line and you will get another Sam Bradford, Tim Couch, David Carr. You need a complete team with "coaches" as probably the most important element.
