can someone PLEASE give me one good reason why it makes sense to keep ireland?? this is the most boneheaded decisions I have seen in a decade full of them.

To be honest, I have no clue which way is right anymore with this franchise. My head is spinning. I cant give an honest answer. I really have no clue.

A and O, you do have a clue. your head is spinning b/c this decisions is simply incomprehensible.

I think Ireland has drafted much better than Parcells did, so he may have another shot at this...

but, if Ireland staying costs us a big name Coach, then I will be pissed.

Ross is keeping Ireland not only because he did a good job. But, because Ross himself really dosen't know anything about how to put together a team, or how to select a head coach.

He's an owner that knows very little about these things so he has to have someone he trusts to help him make these decisions. I'm also sure that he's talked to people that he trusts such as Peterson and Shula, among others...maybe even Parcells (heaven forbid) to get information.

Ireland's drafts have been disappointing

Odrick & Misi haven't been overwhelming

Odrick has been dissappointing? Really? He has been a beast at DE and DT. this year and last year he was injured in the first or second game...

Those guys were drafted by Bill Parcells.

I don't agree with it but understand it ... if its temporary and depends on whehter it stands in the wway of getting cower or gruden.

I expect however that he doesn't see us getting either of them and is thus needing some football expertise at least for now.

The only reason I voted yes is simply to save the team from a total re-build. I don't like the guy BUT we do have a descent roster and perhaps the new coach will be able to get things cooking with what we have in place. I wouldn't have been heart broken had he been released.

sorry but if peterson is the vp of football ops and ireland the gm no big name coach will have anything to do with the phins.

what those two buffoons will attract is 2nd tier retreads like mangini and herm edwards....guys that would be thrilled just to get back in. of the two mangini at least displays intelligence and an understanding of the game. edwards is still horrible on espn and is nothing but a rah rah type coach.

i'm afraid it's going to go from bad to worse.
