First of all, GREAT WIN!!
It was total and complete domination... right up until the end.
And this may come across a little picky and bitter, but...
I wasn't wild about the 14 garbage points the phins D gave up in the 4th qtr.
I may not even be bringing it up had I not been playing against Carson Palmer in one of my FFLs.
But I never understood this "prevent defense" crap that teams go into when they know what's coming....PASSES!
Going away from aggressive, shut-out defense for any reason, never made sense to me. Pin the D's ears back, and blitz to create rushed passes, errant throws, and even SACKS and TURNOVERS!! 3 and out demoralization on an epic scale!
But no, lay back and get torched for quick score after quick score.
I know any of you who started Miami's D in their FFL are feelin me!
Again, GREAT WIN!!
At this rate, we might be playing ourselves out of the top 10 draft spots.
And if that's the case, we know we've got a legit Q going into the off-season.
When you're up by 30 points in the 4th quarter, you switch to the prevent defense to keep everything in front of you, burn the clock, and avoid injury.
I doubt Mike Nolan is concerned with your fantasy implications.
