Have any of you guys ever been to Tulane stadium? I got a story about a trip to Tulane to watch the Phins stomp the Saints. Might have been an exibition game I don't remember, but what a trip.
No Leon, but I've been to Tulane to visit a buddy of mine. Good thing I didn't go to school there, I'd have flunked out! What a blast that campus and N'arlins is in general.
I think it was '73. I was working for National Airlines which had the charter flight for the Phins. One of my work mates would upgrade one of the officials on a scheduled flight. The official would at times offer free tickets. So my work mate got 6 tickets right on the 50 yard line. We had to meet the official at his hotel a couple hours before the game.
Now another friend and work mate and fellow fan and I would go to the Orange Bowl and other away games, so we decided to fly to New Orleans and have some fun.
At the game, Tulane Stadium, broken down bleachers and a mess, someone started passing around a jug of Scotch. We got pretty blind and took a cab back to the airport. A bathroom stop at a hotel on the way.
When we got back to Miami, people kept coming up to me asking if I had fun with Ray. Hey Le how was your trip with Ray.
I'm so freaking naive how was I to know he was Gay. Good thing everyone knew I was married and had kids I tell ya.
Dolphin Stadium (1987, 2006 – present)
Joe Robbie Stadium (1980 - 1986,1987 – 1996)
Pro Player Park (1996)
Pro Player Stadium (1996 – 2005)
Dolphins Stadium (2005 – 2006)
The year was 1974, we won 21-0. (Yes, I looked it up).
Well Leon, I could see how it'd be difficult to tell, with all the butt slapping, hugging, man-crushes and such that are associated with sports fandom.
Now if this guy booked a room in the Honeymoon Suite then you should have noticed!
JRS didn't open until 1987, how the hell could they have called it that from 1980-86, when they didn't even begin construction until 1985?
I assume that was the "working title" while they were pulling the permits and getting financing and stuff. Robbie had worked on getting that thing built for years before he put a shovel in the ground.

Could be...and speaking of financing, a lot of people don't know that Robbie didn't use ANY public funding to build that stadium. An extreme rarity.
