He was not considered a top tier QB, that is missing on him.

Good Point. There is a big difference between a franchise QB and a starting QB. There are 32 starting QB's in this leauge. Only a handful are Franchise QB's.

I dont think that we did not miss the boat. Dalton is part of a stellar defense. He is not asked to throw the football 35 times per game. He manages the game and every once in a while he is asked to make plays. To his credit he has been coming through but it is not like he is throwing for 300 yards per game, he is only averaging 225... lets not get crazy yet cause he is on a winning team. How well did a guy like Trent Edwards do when he started? dont confuse winning with great qb play. For some reason people do. Give him 3 years and then we will see if us or anyone missed out.

actually i take it back, i checked and he throws the ball about 30 times per game as a rookie and they are still winning. That is rather impressive... However i still think we need to watch him. And i dont think he would be having nearly that type of success here cause i dont have ANY confidence in our ability to groom and develop qb's. We need to hvae a guy that is not a veteran. just my opinion.
