I don't know if your kidding or being an idiot. I'm giving you the benifit of the doubt.

I never had a hard on for Dalton. Thats my point. NOBODY did. Everyone missed the boat on him. Kind of like Marino I guess in 83'. He was so far off the radar he could have bombed and no one would have noticed.

But to answer your question.....Mallet is sitting behind one of the Premier QB's of the 21st Century. So I don't think he's really getting his fair share of playing time yet. He will haunt us, unless we get an even bigger arm for the future.

thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt.
I've moved on from the 2010 draft. the 2011 prospects are supposed to be among the best in recent years, and we'll be in position to get one of them. there's no way we pass on them.....is there?

I agree........unless we keep winning and put ourselves just out of reach to nab one. The Dolphins can't win when we want them too, and now they are winning when it can actually help the Franchise for the future. I forget the last time I actually dug being a Dolphins fan.

Yes, we did miss the boat.

Perhaps some day this team will bite the bullet and draft a QB in the first round again.

no one wanted us to take dalton at 15. I recall before the draft one writer had him mocked to us there and he was vilified on this board (probably by me).
whatever, let's take barkley or RG3, or even jones, we can get one of them for sure, even if it requires a trade up. This is a good year for that b/c many of the teams ahead of us won't be taking QBs in the first.
If Moore keeps it up, I'd be psyched to have a hotshot rooke franchise type QB and Moore on the roster. That would solid.

Seriously, Who cares about the past???

Just like what Berk mentioned, lets look forward to Barkley or RGIII.

Even better would be to have a Hot shot rookie Franchise QB, and trade Moore for a 1st rounder to some team in the NFC. smileys with beer

Honestly? Yes.

Because we stink and the guys we draft either don't pan out or don't really help the team in a meaningful capacity.

Yes. I was one of the "Henne detractors" before the season started and I absolutely would have been fine with reaching a bit for a QB at #15. If he doesn't pan out, he doesn't pan out.

Pouncey's a real good player, but we need a damn quarterback.

The Jets traded up for Sanchez, who was a hell of a reach, and even though he's turned out to be garbage, I still think it was a smart move. You gotta go after a guy and not be afraid to pay a little bit too much. To paraphrase Ron Wolf, you can never pay too much for a quarterback.

Well R/jay, I respectively disagree. Like I said, hindsight's 20/20, but the Jets are screwed after overpaying for Sanchez, while we took the same QB (skill wise) late in the 2nd. Reaching for Dalton at 15 and having him not pan out would of for sure cost Ireland his job (he's probably gone anyway, but at least we got an anchor at center for years to come). Don't get me wrong, I wanted a QB also (I wanted to move up for Gabbert), but to complain about not taking Dalton isn't really fair is it?

Ten, elven years of this garbage and it's not fair to complain that they won't draft a QB in the first round?

Complaining about not taking a QB in general is one argument, complaining about not taking Dalton at #15 is a whole different argument.

We're going to have to reach on a QB eventually. A lot of folks thought the Panthers reached on Cam Newton...

Did anyone here do that? I didn't see it. I think I mentioned That its incredible to see what he has become and No one even had him on the Radar, not even a blip.

What does this have to do with the price of Apples? I only started this thread to point out that its not always the big name QB's that are winners. Seeing as we will most likely be QB shopping I thought it was a valid point and something to consider , especially if the Dolphins win us out of the Top of the draft.

Please don't make statements that are not true. But I guess if your looking hard enough for anything you will eventually find it huh?

Wow. That article sure blew a lot of smoke up Dalton's bung hole, but I wasn't very mesmerized by it. Let's compare some statistics shall we?

Dalton - completion % 59.3 - QB rating 79.6 (21st in the league)

Our scrub UDFA backup who's currently starting - completion % 63.0 - QB rating 87.8 (10th in the league)

I don't know man. Seems like that female sports writer simply has the hots for the young lad. I'm relieved we didn't use the 15th pick to get him. I think we'll miss the boat though if we don't grab one of the top 4 in the next draft.

I dont understand Moore is playing really well and why does no one want to keep him?

His stats say it all.

He is a Smith QB but slightly better.

It doesnt matter who we put at QB because our coaching can't win us games.

Why do you not understand that he did this in 2009, then pooped his pants in 2010 after Carolina put their trust in him!?

Epic, dude, seriously, wake up and smell the roses. Matt Moore cost us the Dallas game with bone headed play. He sucks. Just because he is playing better than Henne, doesnt mean squat. He and Henne suck.

He didnt lose us the game Sparano did.

He didnt win us the game sure I'll give you that, however he won us three game's.

U can't use him at Carolina as any example.

look at Carolina this year with Mr Newton.

I mean come on!!! Carolina is horrible.

Carolina is in every single game.

When Moore was there....they got blowed out. Every single game.

Well Newton has a cannon so throwing it deep to Smith work's.

He can run so that alone make's team's defend him total opposite of Moore.

Look Moore isnt the next Brady, but as long as he continue's playing the way he has been playing with better fourth quarter play he is franchise material.

Sanchez is a franchise and he suck's so? Cassel is franchise and Moore is just as good if not better than Cassel.

Moore reminds me of Hassebeck.

Bizzare. That's all I can say. What, exactly, constitutes a "franchise" QB in your eyes? If Sanchez sucks...why is he a franchise QB to you?

I saw Dalton throwing at the draft combine and wondered who he was, he was making all the throws.

He has a very quick release.

Hard to imagine why the experts missed on him.
