-Offensive coordinator:calls offensive plays

-Defensive coordinator:calls the defensive plays

-GM:finds players

-Guys upstairs:tells you if you should throw the challenge flag or not.

-Assistant coaches: focus on special areas of the team.( dline, oline, linebackers,wr, rb,etc.)

-Special teams coach: Kicking, punting,kickoffs, onside kicks.

-Quality control: kind of like equipment guys.

-Strength & conditioning: keep players in shape.

So basically he calls time out, cusses at players(insults their mammas), throws out a few inspiring quotes every now and then.

During the game...his responsibility comes down to making adjustments and making the final descisions on what to do on 4th down...yelling alot.

The real work happens during the week...study in the video room...developing game plans...leading the team by example...deciding who starts and who sits...identifying and fixing recurring problems...bringing discipline.

The Head Coach decides who is the OC,DC Special teams..the entire coaching staff.

The HC sets the philosophy - aggressive, smash mouth, finesse, possession.

The HC looks at the roster and decides the best system, or tells the GM what system he wants to run and the GM handles player acquisition and contracts to support that. ( now the GM could be undermining a guy to get rid of him...but ...his job is to go shopping and get what the HC puts on the list.

The HC decides the game plan, depth chart, preparation, schedule, rules.

The HC sets the tone in how he handles the guys who challenge the rules, the authority.

It wasn't Nolan who benched Vontae...it was Sparano.

The HC tells the OC to open it up or reign it it. Clock management, rotation, situational decisions.

The HC does a LOT!!

He even pumps his fist after field goals.

In our case, I like Tony, and I have since his beginning at Miami, but he is no NFL HC.
