Is wildcat worth running anymore? It seems as if every play gets stopped for 2 yards or less now. I think we may still be using it to set up the big play.

I would like to see a little more of the Wildcat formation that we used a few games ago, with Ronnie taking the snap, flanked by both Ricky and Cobbs. That allowed for a nice misdirection run by Ricky and a nice sweep left with Ronnie. It also opens up the possibility of Ronnie running an option play to keep it or pitch to Cobbs. And since it flows to the left, it could also be a throw from Ronnie.

That's a pretty good percentage, huh? Makes me wonder why we've only tried it twice.
The play I am waiting for is for Ronnie to take the snap and run into the line, only to stop right before it and throw a lob pass over the pile to either Fassno or pennington taking a post route. That would be great in a goal line or short yardage situation. They would never have time to adjust.

I think they are saving it for when we really need it...and I also think they are saving some other looks that haven't been seen before to roll out at the NY game.

Yep, I agree. I bet Sparano is a good poker player.
The fact of the matter is that as long as we run that play a few times a week, it makes the other teams take time to practice for it. The threat of the play alone is enough for us to keep running it, even if it hasn't been very effective lately.
I mean look, when we first started winning, it was because we were relying on that play. Now we can win without it, but it's still an important part of this year's offense.

How about penningtons TD pass on the wildcat against the texans or ronnies TD pass against the pats. But yes 95 percent of the time its going to be a run.
