It was very unfortunate that Donald Thomas had to be placed on IR this year. The guy was showing great promise. The Jets defensive line raved about his toughness after the opening game and he played much of that game with a lisfranc fracture. Regardless of what happens during the remaining four games, I feel great about what has happened this season and feel even better knowing that Donald Thomas should be a great addition to the team next year. His return is like having another high round draft pick.

Has anyone heard anything about his progress lately? I found this mention from a month ago.

Thomas off crutches: Rookie guard Donald Thomas, who is out with an injury to his right foot, is wearing a protective boot and no longer requires crutches.

Thomas suffered a Lisfranc fracture to his right foot during the season opener the New York Jets. He underwent surgery and few days later and was placed on injured reserve.

Coach Tony Sparano said he doesn't know when Thomas will begin rehabilitation.

"He's coming along really well," Sparano said.

I haven't heard a thing, but feel like you do. We should have a stronger line than this year, and we'll probably add some depth.

Hope he turns out better than the last 2 promising training camp guards who were penciled in as starters, got hurt, and were never heard from again.
Joe Toledo?
Drew Morimino?

Oh well I have faith that we picked the right guys for a change, and thomas will recover and be a 10 year starter.

I wonder the same thing about Smiley. From what I have heard, his injury was pretty bad and wonder if he will ever fully recover. He already has shoulder problems. I would not be surprised if we pick up another LG next year.

Morimino was never very good. He was just better than what we had at the time. If you watched or O-Line in Wanny's last year, you'll realize just how bad we were. Morimino was a upgrade, but that's not saying much.

Maybe we can draft Michael Oher or Andre Smith line them up at RT and move Vernon C next to Jake Long.

Todd McShay has him as the #20 overall prospect in his big board. Maybe teams will follow McShay's board. cool smiley
