Looks like November 6 will be the Luck Bowl. KC and Miami will battle it out to find out which team is more inept and therefore which team will draft Andrew Luck. Right now, I'd have to say that Miami is the odds on favorite to "win" the right to draft him. Sadly, that's all we as fans have left to look forward to this year. Anyone with the stomach to what this train wreck of a team will get to witness an almost empty stadium and the few fans present wearing paper bags over their heads. Thanks Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano. They shouldn't have been called the trifecta... the Three Stooges is more apt.
In the end, regardless of our talent, we will find a way to lose. That's just how it's been lately. On paper we're better than KC, better than Indy, but none of that matters.
And if you're right, Montequi....which I definitely think you are...and we draft Luck and he is great but it does of no good because the team is still weak in every other aspect of the game...........

So if we get the number 1 pick what do suggest we do then...?
You have to take Luck. First of all, with the rookie cap now in place, missing on the number one pick isn't as onerous as it once was. Plus, if you have a chance to finally get a franchise QB, you have to do it. This kid is talked about in the way Peyton Manning was talked about. Maybe he will be great maybe not... but you have to take that chance. Not having had a franchise QB has been an open sore on the underbelly of this franchise since Danny retired. Time to heal the wound.

I don't think he's suggesting we DON'T draft Luck. I just think he's being real. A great QB with crap around him can't win.
I still say, if we had just an ok defense and running game with Marino, we would have won 1 or more Superbowls with him.

But montequi where do we start?
Isnt it obvious we need to start at the most important position if and a big if....we get a chance....Then build around that....

Yeah, I see your point. If DO get the #1 pick, then next draft will be the most obvious since we took Bob Griese...which is why we need to change the organization and get rid of Sparano and Ireland BEFORE the draft (hopefully soon). I'm just leery of someone who will come in and clean house without evaluating what we have. I'm tired of "system" guys like JJ (speed over size) and Parcells (size over speed). I want someone who will look over our talent...players AND coaches...keep what's good and fix what needs fixing.
So, if we draft Luck, do we try to keep Henne as a backup? Keep in mind, his contract is over after this season...so we need to decide soon what we're doing. If we re-sign him to a long-term deal, then we may be saddled with 2 high-priced QBs on our roster. If we don't re-sign him, then we will be betting it all on Andrew Luck. I don't like our odds.
I look forward to going 0-16 just to help get the process going to be a major force in the NFL if done correctly. If not done correctly, I too am getting to old for this crap and probably resign myself to not really be interested in football any longer. I used to be a red sox fan, but dropped out of baseball years ago, as I found the sport too slow and the length of time it was taking the sox to get going. Much will happen with this train wreck if not done quickly..I am just getting to old for this crap.
I love Miami Dolphins football and can't wait to kick some Charger ass this week. Henne's game has been looking good, Daboll's got the deep ball going, and Nolan will get the nasty defense back on track, coach sparano will be on the sideline barking and fist pumping.

He dont need to if he is going to become another Dan Marino or Payton Manning.....
Draft him with the first pick then go OL WR TE LB S with the rest of the picks.

I've heard THAT before. One of those guys would be a 5th rounder or later. Basically, based on history, I don't expect us to get more than 3 starters (if we're lucky), MAYBE 1 or 2 backups, from next years draft.
