Yea, well back in April, there was someone on this board jumping up and down about Bess. Maybe Reppa?

But you probably wouldn't recall that either.

Just like you didnt know jake was going to be a stud. Nobody knows if a draftee is going to become a bust or stud. It has happened way too many times.

Well anytime you can get talent and dont have to spend a draft pick to do so then you did your job... ie wes welker,

I was calling for us to take jake months before we did. however I've been wrong more times than I've been right so I won't claim any special ability or anything

Good player yes, but a stud? Not quite yet. He had 84 yards today.

Well keep in mind that he was UNDRAFTED!!! now compare him to ginn who had a full year of experience and a #9 draft pick making millions of dollars and I dont think you can say that ginn is clearly a better reciever than bess. I dont think we have a stud, but keep in mind that roddy white was a dud for years. Why is he suddenly a stud this year? Reason he has a qb that can stretch the field and make defenses play if they roll up. No knock on pennington but he is that that type of qb, and i have said on several occasions that as long as we have pennington we will not have a stud reciever. We dont run the type of offense which will produce a stud. you put bess in arizona in the slot and he would make breaston look like a school girl... trust me i know talent.

I really like Bess, but today was not a great day to sing his praises. He had two dropped passes (One should have been a TD) and ran a wrong route that could have been very costly. His first dropped pass was nearly picked off.

In two more years he could be as good as Welker. I'm glad he is on our team. But, he still has alot of work ahead to reach his potential.

Not buying that argument. Coles was a stud in NY when he was with Chad. Penne is ranked in the top ten this year for yards and rating and passes over 20 yards. He is in the top 13 for passes over 40.

and Roddy Whites breakout came last year under scrub QB's. He had 1200 yards. You can't give all the credit for White to Matt Ryan.

I seem to remember a couple of guys who didn't do to bad in this offense...Muhsin Muhammad and Steve Smith? Remember those guys

Thanks for the FYI, i didnt know that. I believe that this year is the year of the recievers, I can think of 5-8 really outstanding reciever that may declair for the draft and if we do spend our 1 or 2 on a wr I think that we can get a big time guy. Maybe we can turn him into a stud, i guess we will see.

I completely agree, he has alot of work and he does not look at all like the guy I used to watch in hawaii. I dont think he is a 1 or a 2 (maybe he can work his way to become one) I always felt like he could be an outstanding slot guy, we need to put a 1 and a 2 to help him work the middle of the field...
