What the hells wrong with this defense? The strength of this team B. S. They are tired, and getting beat on every series. What in the hell our strength has become our weakness, and Henne is playing pretty darn well. I never thought our problem this year would be defense. You never really know do you. I see the same problems never enough consistency on offense or defense, and Sparano out coached by Belechick again. Oh well nothing new really. New season same results.
Henne is not THE problem but he is sure as hell indicative of it. Mediocrity that is the problem. Henne can't make a play when we need it. Just like the rest of em. The team is unprepared and out of shape. The mediocrity starts at the top.
People blaming the offense for tonight's loss are delusional morons. The defense has given up close to 650 yards and 38 points. No pressure, no coverage, no tackling. Abysmal.
The Dolphins offense put up 24 points and close to 500 yards. This is all on the defense. ALL on the defense. Just embarrassing how bad they are tonight.
Henne is much maligned as any QB I have ever seen in the last few months people mock him analysts make fun of him. No one thinks he is any good. You switch teams, and Henne destroys our defense as well no doubt about it. Was he as good as Tom Brady tonight no Brady was much better when it counted, but Henne was far from the bum many made him out to be. This my friends is a damn shame because his career is still salvageable to this point I believe. He can still be a very good QB in this league as long as he has good coaching, and a team to play for. This defense better get it's act together or this season will get ugly way to fast I think. What I saw out their tonight EMBARASSING really.
Henne had a GREAT game. I'm convinced that QB is NOT our problem. The Pats are a strong team, and our offense is complex and was a little out of sync. As for the defense, that Pats O-Line is monsterous, and we just couldn't compete with it.
Henne played great with lots of heart but the D couldn't do squat...he performs well and the D collapses....can we just get a freakin TEAM effort??!!...that would be great!
While Henne had a good game, last night clearly defined the difference between an average QB and a great QB. Brady commanded the entire game. He dictated our defense more than Mike Nolan.
The question is, can we win a superbowl with an average/good QB?
Henne played a great game IMO, but I would like to see them go away from calling the fade inside the red zone, it's a pass he simply can't make so stop calling it.
Spread the field and get it to Bush in space some how, or hit someone over the middle like they did on Hartlines TD, but please don't call a play Henne can't execute! At the worse that should be the only thing he practices all week.

Yup no screens no short passes to bush....I think they had to get him more imvolved in the passing game just because it didnt work one time doesnt mean they have to stop doing it.
I think bush can be a mismatch against a LB i dont care who it is.
I think they had to get bush more involved which they did not.
Why slate the positives when there were too many negatives?Henne had a good game so your looking in the wrong area. The "d" was poor by anyones standards but more so the secondary with from what i saw very poor tackling and judgement.
But more so for me the area of the "o" line and rushing will pan out to be more of a hinderence as the season goes on.Why shift Carey inside just to accomodate another ex Cowboy in the shape of a washed up Colombo. Why not put Nate Garner at guard and shift Carey back to tackle? As for the running game, why did they wear Bush down?.Why not give Johnson some playing time..i presume thats what we signed him for,ya know,to contribute?
6-10 season coming and Sparano and Ireland to take there Cowboy cast offs with them when they get booted into touch.

Colombo needs to go i think there will be changes at the OL position if not then we are in trouble next week as well....We sign larry johnson and do not use him...no paases to reggie bush out of the backfield i think just once....why didnt they get im more involved...No screens.

I'm talking specifically about the red-zone and not trying the fade to the corner of the end-zone (because Henne obviously can't throw pass with any kind of consistency), and I said get it to Bush "in space", that meant pitch out, screen pass, draw etc.

The problem on the goal line is that when the other team knows you cannot run it in, the passing game becomes virtually impossible to execute with any consistency. Older fans will remember this. Later in Marino's career, when the running game was really awful (think KAJ, Avery, JJ Johnson, etc), it would always be so disappointing when Marino would complete a pass inside the 10 and the receiver got tackled. You just knew we'd have to settle for a FG, or Marino would force the ball in and make a mistake. Jimmy Johnson would even publicly criticize him for his turnovers in the red zone. Other teams knew we had no chance to run it in, and when you can play pass defense in such a limited space, you can make it extraordinarily difficult for even the best QBs around. We failed at running it in during the preseason, and we failed last night, too. We are going to have to prove we can run the ball down there to give Henne more room to pass.
Samsam...."Someone had to lose"...."Just a Game"....as long as it's not us losin and....no such thing as just a PHIN game....what did Charlie Sheen say....DOLPHIN BLOOD - WINNIN MAN!
