Coincidence that GB is not playing that well? Could Philbin have had that much impact?

I was thinking the exact same thing about clay. The two drops got me going. Then he ran out of bounds! I'm almost ready to cast him in the heap with thomas and carpenter!

Prior to last year, Jake and Thomas were tit for tat the two best lt's in the league with everyone else battling for a distant third. Thats statistical fact not conjecture. Don't know how anyone can say he's never been a top shelf pass protector? He may be damaged goods but a damaged Long is still better than 75% of the rest of the lt's in the league.

Not that he deserves much credit but watching the replay of his fumble, I noticed two things: 1. NanuNanu didn't give up after he fumbled. He was the one who made the TD saving tackle. He trailed Peterson a long way to get there. It would've been easy to give up but he didn't. I'm glad he's gone but have to give credit b/c in this game you never know what's going to happen and we ended up gett

NOOOOOO, I don't! Carpenter is only 26 yrs old. I don't understand saying "as Carpenter gets older". Many positions, Kickers included, don't hit their prime until years into the league. Conclusion: He should be entering his prime but instead, he's lost his confidence.

There's 4 seasons of tape on the guy. I pray that he gameplans against Smith based on a tv show rather than live game tape!

He DID suprise that safety with his speed. Notice that he was only running about 3/4 speed, thinking he had the angle. Then he realized Hartline has a little more getty up than he expected but the damage was done.

What have you seen in Thomas that makes you think he can be anything but a backup in this league? IMO, the jury rested last year. But add last years body of work to what we've seen this year and he's a definite bust!

I breezed through the other posts so I apologize if it's been said but do you think we'd have been IN those games with Sparano? I agree that, if they both had the benefit of the same situation, Sparano would've been able to pull a win out those two games. Just don't think he'd have made the earlier calls to get us there. I think I've seen more downfield passing in the first four games than we

Yet he wants to go all conservative when he has a free shot at a big play. Go figure.

Thomas got STOOD up on a short yardage run early yesterday (by one defender, iirc). Then a few series later, he was straight BLOWN up by a safety and allowed a sack. Not good in short yardage, not good on the goal line, not good between the tackles. Just not good. When he's finally released by the Dolphins, he won't make another roster. All that said...Tannehill's got a freaking CANNO

He's not, and never has been, a YAC receiver which is why you would want him back there. Plus he's one of the most effective weapons on offense. Very few starting receivers in this league pull double duty as return men and I just don't see the benefit. It just seems irresponsible to be taking a chance on injury. High risk, little or no reward.

Anyone know why Bess and Thigpen alternate punt returns? I love Davone Bess. He gets in and out of his breaks probably better than anyone in the NFL... but he has to be one of the slowest receivers in the league. He looks like he's running in sand while everyone else is running on turf. He has great hands, I get it, but if you don't trust Thigpen then why put him back there at all?

We went from getting after Kolb and backing them into a 3rd and 20 hole to a prevent defense! I guess the prevent is the norm but I HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT!

As much as I think coaching has lost the last two games, I also believe that coaching has had us in those two games. Hopefully Philbin and crew will find a happy medium and learn when, and when not, to turn RT loose.

There was no audible. It was a called pass. RT was hit from behind before he even got into his drop. Judging by Bush's movement it looks like it might have been a called screen but not sure b/c it never had a chance to develop. Lane flat out missed his assignment. I guess he's trying to be agressive but that was just plain stupid. Like you said, Chryen, maybe throw it on third but you just ran

"Thomas is in no. 2 b/c he's a better blocker" Pwahahaahahaha. Thomas is a big for nothing waste of a roster slot. BUT he's another Ireland pick so get used to seeing him on the field.

One positive, we get to see rt's potential AND move up the draft board. Oh yeah, and the jets were embarrassed by the niners today.
