I knew we were in trouble at the start when Ross discussed the rebuilding of this franchise with his pal Carl Peterson. It's even worse now with the installation of Tannenbaum. The old wisdom is that if you have a good defense, you defer and get better position on the opening drive. Figure the opponent gets the ball starting at the 20 yard line, moves the ball in 3 downs to the 27 yard line, punts for about 44 yards. He is suffering from the David Carr syndrome combined with the poorly guided decision by Pinhead/ Sherman and co. to reinvent him into something he is not. Is it too late to salvage Tanny? Possibly. IMHO he had a better show of instincts in his rookie year but seriously it is hard to gauge his skills when he has about 2.5 seconds or less to throw the ball on every single play.
