ridiculous. Some super talented computer programer gets an offer for 1mm per year from Microsoft his JR year and anyone would think less of him if he dropped out of school and took the job? There should be a rule saying you can't take that job unless you first graduate college? Same freaking thing. These players make a ton of money for their schools and have a rare skill and hone it in college---

we can offer him: (1) immediate starting job at G, and maybe even T depending on injury to BA; (2) no state tax (only FLA teams and I think TX teams can do that)---huge in a small contract which everyone can offer only the same $$; (3) many former college teammates; (4) an "in" with his agent as MT worked at the agency his agent is from before coming here; and (5) great city to live in

He is either totally innocent in which case his career was ruined through no fault of his own. Or the worst kind of psycho scumbag. No middle ground.

Mel Bratton picked by miami didn't get signed drafted by den next year. And of course most famous Bo Jackson taken one overall didn't sign w Tampa raiders took him mid rounds following year. We better sign Collins as ufa if cleared. That would be incredible !

seeing a lot of good players gone now since we traded down in the 2d and took Jordan, all the ILBs, RBs, and OGs. Not sure what's left and unless we can turn all those 5ths into a 3d and take a solid player, I am not thrilled with the trade down for phillips

doesn't matter no way Philbin could handle him and no way team takes a drug testing failure after getting burned by Jordan my bigger questions is do we take LaEl Collins if he falls to us in 4th. I say HELL YEAH. If he had nothing to do with his girl's death, then he was truly screwed by how this played out and we are getting a mid-first round talent at the cost of a 4th. If he was involved w

I never understood how pretending to be in love with a player would lead to a team that wants that player trading for your pick. If they thought you loved the player and wanted to take him wouldn't that prompt the team to trade with the team AHEAD of you defeating the purpose?

Ronnie Brown wasn't even the starter on his own college team! Just a totally odd pick. Although he was better than Caddy Williams, who did start over him at Auburn. Terrible draft that year, Brown and Williams both top 5 picks, and A Rogers slid to the 20s....

apparently everyone philbin included told ross, when he asked who they would take if they had #1 overall pick, that they wanted Dion Jordan. So no one escapes blame here, except MT and Hicky who were not there.

I still would rather hang onto him for a year than trade him for a 5th. We get cap relief due to his suspension. the minute we trade him for a sack of marbles he gets his head on straight and dominates for his new team. I'd rather get nothing for him than a 5th and watch that happen. screw Jordan. And Ireland.

I really don't want to spend our first round pick on a guy who's never played the position we are expecting him to start at

what people don't seem to get is that if MT says anything else we are admitting to violating the rooney rule and will be fined and lose a draft pick. the press release announcing MT hire says he had final say over anything, it was only when the rule violation was noticed that they tried to walk back their own press releases. but hey omar kelly is convinced....

I agree treasure he wasn't really a good fit for us. But that doesn't make him a reach. Just makes Ireland an idiot

Say what you want but jordan was consensus tip 5 pick that year. He'd have gone to philly at 4 if we didn't take him. He May end up being a bust but he wasn't a reach and we did not overspend to get him. Everything that happened since the puck is the problem

Kiko Alonzo was basically traded straight up for lesahwn McCoy. Why would they trade him for Jordan ?

joe, I don't think he's an evil villain. he was brought in to run the show but due to idiotic rooney rule violation they can't say that in public any more. MT reports only to Ross who wants splashy playmakers and if at all possible MT will try to deliver on that. After that "splash" move Hicky can pick all the Matt Hazels he wants.

he has more value to us just as special teams player than a freaking 6th round pick. can't believe you would advocate that deal. a 6th rounder and a cap hit, and give up on the most talented (physically) guy on our team. where do I sign

a 6th round pick is a complete insult. the guy is still incredibly talented and just 2 years removed from being the consensus top D player in the draft. I am tired of teams trying to take advantage of our idiocy and constant turnover in the coach/gm ranks to guy players for pennies on the dollar. how did that vontae davis deal work out?

at least he traded back instead of reached. so he did care somewhat about BPA b/c if he didn't he would have taken whoever he wanted whenever he was available and not cared that he was not worth of that spot. that said he traded back way too much with us and we ended up with crap more often than not. i.e., john avery, jj johnson, rob konrad

long snapping is a unique skill. different from a shotgun snap and not just anyone that can do one can do the other.
