What a hoot this thread is.
I stand with those noting Ireland had the right to respond as such due to the Fan approaching him in that fashion (face to face).
As always the media will sensationalize and create a moral injustice out of nothing in the name of how we expect people to be perfect.
I just can't imagine the owner of the Yankees (Steinbrenner Sr)worrying over such a remark if eve

Silly thread. Even if it hadn't turned out so well with the team showing up ... the strategy is rightly to let the kid get some experience.
He did so and won, and he's cementing the team chemistry in the process.
Good move for all concerned, success breeds success, and it is better to have the future QB leading it.
You have to take this risk to move the team in the right direction a

Just say no to Legadu Naanee.
- I'm thinking he has pcitures of someone else I can't excplain why this guys is on the field at all?
Surely we have someone better than him? Thank God Hartline is back. We need one more guy.

I haven't seen enough of the pat thing to make a call, but I have observed him staring at his intended receiver.
I think that gives a talented defense and in, but am confident he will grow out of this and perhaps use it to his advantage once he lears to look people off, thus those locking in on his stare gets fooled.
We'll see how he sdoes this week with a lesser defense and a week to work

To be fair, the pass would have been a great catch if he had made it.
As a number one you expect to see that, but to say it was an easy catch was just not true.

That said another comment regarding WRs and the GB version of the WCO.
- I saw 2-3 passes from Rodgers that I would call identical to the one Marshall dropped. ie Couldabeen? Shouldabeen? maybe on a good day, but no

A tough draw to start out with Houston.
That said ... this team needs really badly to learn how to be ready in September.
Too many factors to make that happen this year:
- New HC, coaches, QB, systems blah blah
- Oh btw no talent

Last I heard we were only at 52, so wouldn't know why they would need to cut him now unless they are bringing in 2 more.

> What happened to Green Bay's offense. Could Philbin have been a factor in that loss?
I don't know guys this seemd pretty clearly stated that Philbin was a loss to GB and could have accounted for the difference.
- Hope he can make as big a contribution in Miami.
DK says enough to get the comments flowing on this board, but this wasn't one of them.
I think any good team gets figured

I agree witrh Chyren ... I think they are trying hard, and do prefer the occassional goof to the bias any day.
I can't remeber any year where the refs weren't blowing some call anyway!
I don't have a clue what the beef is about with the refs and the NFL. I don't think it is a problem however. They seem to be doing a decent job in what I've seen thus far.

Hey were in the cellar, ranked dead last. You're gonna take a beating until you win your way outta there.
Pundits gotta have someone to kick around. Houston had the largest point spread of any team against Miami and guess what?
- They beat the spread
- Only the bills got thumped worse, (but wasn't predicted).
Bottom line ... Fins have to prove them wrong before they lose the label

Draft Analysis:
Mayock's take: "I have him rated as the 19th best player in the draft, which tells you I don't think he's ready to be a heavy contributor this year. I watched every throw he made on tape this year. All the out-breaking routes are phenomenal. Where he gets in trouble are the in-breaking routes where he stares the receiver down, pats the ball and throws interceptions."

> What are they gonna do, fire him at the beggining of the season? I still Like the Tannehill Pick. he is going to be great for us.
1. Not so crazy. If you are gonna replace the GM, you should do it while the new guy has time to make evaluations and changes.
2. That said ... I do not think he's on the hot seat at all.
- Perhaps he should be, but if Ireland thought he was on the

Wonder wy there is no word yet on any of these tryouts? Perhapsd they don't think anyone not yet signed can be ready for Houston, but seems like we would have heard somehting by now?
I think another experienced WR would help

"The Dolphins are clearly desperate for help at receiver and cornerback. Since Friday the Dolphins have worked out four receivers (Jabar Gaffney, Donte Stallworth, Mike Sims Walker, and Brian Tyms."
They have at least brought him in to look at him.

Pretty goofy question IMHO, but to each his own.
I do however want to make a point that spe4aks more to the FO than to Jake Long.
- We have rotated people along the OL so damn much that those who have remained have been carrying more than their share most every year.
- I think that contributes to some of the health issues with guys trying to do too much. Sparano and Ireland haven't been

> Phinjim i wish i could be as positive as you are. I hope you are right
I really don't think most people realize just how crappy this team was at the end of last year. If you recall, I was pretty torqued about our 0-7 start, and also about the big end of the year heroics.
- Your vets are beavers, and pretty weak organizationally to let that happen. And also to not get up or moti

All take a deep breath and repeat after me ...
Seriously guys ... you have no control over these decisions: So
Sit back and let it unfold. It been two steps forward and one step back,. but there has been progress.
- I can hear the key boards now debating the number of steps forward and back but you get my point ... chill
The wheel is still in motion. Given the gaps:

I think they'll keep Garrard and Devlin.
Garrard will be a good mentor and backup, and when he gets healthy he could be there if needed.
Devlin has done pretty well. Wish I knew what they got for him, soon enuf I guess.

It was said in at least one article I read that Matt Blanchard is just being used to throw to receivers.
Not sure I've ever heard of that before but that's what the article said.
Seems like one of our existing QBs could handle the workload for the tryouts, but maybe they are busy doing other preparations.

Naanee? I heard a lot of positive from practice report, but this guy has butter fingers.
I'll take a pass on him! There must be better out there!
