Ross doesnt know enough about football to be an Al Davis time micromanager. He knows as much about football as my 4 year old niece with his over the top comments like Henne is going to be the next Marino, the Dolphins (coming off a 7-9 season) are going to win the Superbowl, etc. etc.

I posted this in the "bye bye Nolan" thread but I think it's perfectly apt regarding this discussion. Does anyone see where I was coming from with the sentiment I've been expressing in multiple threads over the past week or so asserting that I haven't felt worse or more concerned about our coaching situation (specifically referring to this past season with Sporano as our HC) than I d

Does anyone see where I was coming from when I've been saying in multiple threads that I haven't felt worse and more concerned about our coaching situation (counting this year when Sporano was still HC) as I do right now at this very moment? This is exactly the sort of mess that I knew was going to follow after we fired Sporano. Basically, the only thing worse than having Sporano remain the H

I hear ya, but it's hard to conceive that some great head coach will come out of the woodwork, just out of nowhere, after what we've seen go on since the position opened up. Usually the moment the position opens up, the key guys are already on the radar. But it looks like we've already been turned down by all those guys, the big name coaches available Gruden, Cower, Fisher, they all look like th

Tonight's game was definitely exhilarating, and Tebow was spectacular and stepped up big time and was clutch at the most important moments. That being said, and mind you I'm a fan of Tim Tebow all the way back to his first college game and I was cheering for him the entire game, but I don't think he's going to cut it long term. I root for nothing but the best for him, but I have sincere doubts th

Really? Nothing but tumbleweeds? Is anybody out there? It can't be that you didn't see it, those holds were crystal clear and embarrassingly obvious. Nobody else is the least bit annoyed that the referees didn't call 3 huge holding penalties that directly cost us the game? Ok. I guess I just underestimated just how beaten down and used to getting screwed the fans of this team are at this point.

In the past, when someone on this board would argue that one blown call or one BS penalty cost us a particular game, a bunch of people on the board would quickly counter that it was Sporano that cost us the game with whatever bone headed thing he did during that particular game or even blame our Quarterback if there was a crucial pick he threw or particular play he screwed up. No such excuse exis

Yeah I would agree, it's not that funny. But A&O, relax. Just having a character play Jesus in a comedy skit is not really sacrilege. The content was completely unoffensive. Nothing demoralizing, no attack, nothing vile, nothing hateful, or spiteful. It was just a dumb SNL skit.

Sure lets cut him. Just tell me how that makes us better. I just don't get it. So many fans seem to be obsessed with getting rid of the only talent we have on this team. People screaming to get rid of Hartline. People demanding we get rid of Marshall. Why? So we can get some 3rd round pick where we'll take a RB out of Sam Houston State? Here's an idea, let's get an elite Quarterback that

Do you realize how good Hartline would be if he had Peyton Manning throwing to him. Yes Manning could get some productivity out of you and me if we lined up next to him, but Hartline makes a lot of difficult catches. Marshal is supposed to be the one who can make great catches when he's completely covered, but it's Hartline that does that for us. How many times do you find yourself getting angry

I think the big issue here is that Ross is a fool. Every time he speaks he comes across as a fool. He says something nutty with childlike naivity with that goofball smile on his face. "I want a young Don Shula," comparing Henne to Marino, saying we were going to win the superbowl comign off a 7-9 season. Confidence is one thing but naive, over-the-top, flamboyant comments just make him

Why would elite QB's be on the agenda anytime soon? We still have the personel guy who's vehemently resisted taking the QB position seriously and/or drafting one high or trading up to get one every year sinse he got here. Why would our draft strategy regarding the need for a franchise QB change?

In response to your rebuttal, I don't think we're that far apart. That being said, I still don't think it would be a given that the 72 or 73 Dolphins would without question "cream" today's currently undefeated 2011 Packers. In light of what you said, because not every player at every position on the 72 Dolphins fits that Muhammed Ali analogy, I think they would be outclassed by their mo

Did you really take absolutely nothing from my argument? Especially my second post? "Some of those guys who made it to the Hall who played back in the 70's would be Hall of Fame players in any generation, but some of those guys would never make it to that esteemed status if they played in today's NFL, where the caliber of talent is higher and where that higher caliber of talent is held by

Um are we asserting that a team from the early 70's made up of offensive and defensive lineman that were built like todays linebackers would have unequivocally destroyed a currently undefeated team playing in todays NFL that boasts offensive and defensive lineman that tip the scales around 300 lbs? 300 pounders that can bench a house and have feet like ballet players? An NFL where the standard b
