Lamar Miller is a solid back and he's also in the last year of his rookie deal. Are you willing to pay him 5+ mill a year as a starter for the next 4 or 5 years? If not, then drafting a RB is a HUGE priority.

If it were me, I'd sign the cheapest, worst possible backup qb. If RT goes down for more than 2 weeks our season is over. If that happens I don't want my backup @#$%& up my draft position by winning any games. Plus I'll have an extra 3-4m I can roll to next year. I don't want Jackson. He's too good.

Some numbers for next year: if the cap goes up another $10m its at 153m. Our contractual obligations are 117m for 39 or so players. That includes Suh's huge number and big salaries for aging, injured and under performing players like: Wake, Grimes, Cameron, Jones, Misi, Mitchell. There's uwpards of another 35m there if you want it. We need to sign RT, Pouncey and Vernon.

So much for Omar's theory that Clay "WANTS" to be in Miami. If that were true he'd never have signed a deal that cripples his team next year. If he wanted to be here, he'd have come to Miami with their offer

My favorite cb in this draft is Kevin Johnson from wake forest and I think he's a major reach at #14. I think Shaw from usc and Peters from Washington have more talent. But neither of them is on my 1st round board. Too much baggage/risk. I need an impact/cornerstone player at 14. If white, Cooper and Parker are gone I look at Shelton or brown at dt as value picks. If they are gon

I know some people here were really high on him coming out of college and he proved them right with his rookie performance. He retired today due to his concerns over the long term effects of head injuries.

Trading Jordan for Mathis would eat up about 16 mill in cap space this year. Parting ways with Jordan is about 10.5m, Mathis will cost another 5.5m. That move alone would eat up our available cap space and leave us just enough to to sign our draft class. Bye-bye clay. Trading Jordan isn't an option this year unless you are tearing it down and rebuilding without trying to win.

Assuming the clay drama plays out soon we will have between 20 and 28 mill in cap space. Who is still out there that you want to sign?

There is no benefit when it comes to upfront money you've already paid out. Whatever you had prorated over the remaining years becomes dead money this year once you cut or trade the guy.
