Born in Philly, was already a Phins fan in '72 when I was 4 years old (my 1st football memory is watching them beat the Skins in the Superbowl, and I know I was rooting for them then). Went to grad school in Rhode Island, and used to go to the Phins-Patsies game in Foxboro every year then, back when Marino was QB (the Phins won every game). Live just outside of Clearwater, FL now.

No, I'm not the same as dolfan1. I've been a member of this board for at least 10 years (since the Wanny days) but rarely post, though I follow it regularly. I think Kotite's last year coaching was 1995 with the Jets when he took them to I think a 1-15 record. He was their coach the year before when Marino beat them on the fake spike. Quite possibly the most clueless coach I have ever witness

I'm thinking Rich Kotite might be a good fit.

Tony Dungy was fired by Tampa Bay. Did alright with Indy as a retread. Mike Shanahan was fired by the Raiders. Did alright as a retread with the Broncos. Tom Coughlin was fired by the Jags. Has done alright as a retread with the Giants. Bill Belicheck... oh wait, we covered that already.

Yep. All of the above rushed for 1000 yards in the same season. Csonka and Morris were the first (and IMHO the best) to do it. Ricky and Ronnie never did it. They aren't in the same league (again IMHO) as the others.

"Ah 9-2,Marino,Shula,playoffs every year sighhhhhhhh the good old days" That was the year Marino tore his achilles tendon. The starting quarterback that Thanksgiving day for the Phins was Steve DeBerg (Mitchell got injured about 2 weeks before in Philly when Shula passed George Halas for all time wins - Doug Pederson had been the other backup). The starting running back for the Phi

I think some of the conservative play calling, particularly in Minny, was due to the fact that we were playing on the road in loud, hostile environments. I haven't seen many people comment on it, but it was evidently pretty windy in Buffalo, and some analysts credited the wind with knocking down Henne's long throw to Marshall, making it look underthrown. And the Metrodome can be so loud that it

Are you sure you're not confusing Kendall Langford w/ Lionel Dotson? Langford was never cut by us. He was the starting DE last week opposite Odrick, and has been for the last 2 years. Dotson was the one cut by us and then resigned by us. He never started for us, and I don't think has appeared in any regular season games.

Luckily all Bucs home games except 2 will most likely get blacked out, so hopefully get to see more Phins games here.

I live in the Tampa Bay area but don't know yet what the late game is. Phins almost certainly won't be on regular TV since the Bucs also play at 1. You'll need to go to a sports bar. I'd highly recommend Winghouse.

Didn't the Phins win that game? I thought Marino threw a last minute TD pass to Duper to win it. The game I'm thinking of was in '85 I think. Hampton was a rookie that year.

In his effort to cement his legacy in the record books, Brett Favre has set a new record by retiring and un-retiring 7 times within the span of an hour. Because of the speed at which Favre made these announcements, NFL experts are still debating whether his last pronouncement was a retirement or un-retirement. Favre announced a press conference will be held tomorrow to clarify whether he is act

Zach Thomas: 1,076 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 17 INTs, 9 FFs, 4 TDs; 4th all time in tackles by a linebacker Ray Lewis: 1,045 tackles, 36.5 sacks, 28 INTs, 12 FF, 2 TDs; Tied for 2nd all time in murders. Very similar numbers. The Phins never blitzed much when Zach played for them, while the Ravens were a blitzing team, which at least partly accounts for the higher sack numbers for Lewis. Ju

Simms was horrible last night, like he usually is. One of the first plays, Freeney splits a double team, flushes Brees and almost sacks him, and he says the injured ankle is clearly affecting his play. Everyone in the room watching the game looked at each other and said "huh?" He then spent a large portion of the rest of the half explaining how the Saints had to double team him becau

AB is not American - it's Belgian now. MillerCoors is not American, it's South African/Canadian. There are a lot of great American breweries - Dogfish Head, Lagunitas, Stone, Fort Collins, Avery, Erie, Sierra Nevada, Left Hand... Even Samuel Adams (currently the largest US owned brewery). If you're looking for great Florida Breweries, try Firehouse (Miami), Cigar City (Tampa), or Lagniapp
